HEART - Hope Emergency Adoption, Rescue & Transport

A forum for networking dogs in need across Canada's remote communities. Please visit www.heartdogresc

Please note: while HEART understands that there are dogs across the planet in desperate need of help, our focus is on dogs in our own backyard, as there are countless of them in remote communities and on reservations suffering in ways only our Northern climate can produce. Non-Canadian cross-posts will not be removed, but HEART will not intake international dogs. No breeder posts, please, this is strictly a rescue networking site.

We can’t stress enough how sweet of a dog Duchess is! All she needs is a cat free home! Located in Christina Lake. Will arrange transportation for the right home.

New dog of the day is Floki! Shes one of the girls that came home with us this weekend. She is SO thrilled to be a pet. She’s quiet, super comfortable around other dogs, warms up to women quickly. She becomes very affectionate as soon as she trusts. So far not sure about the leash thing but likes to stick around her people. Not cat tested. 40lb heeler husky mix, 3 years old.

Revelstoke! Meet Princess Peach! This young recent mumma is a medium (35lb) heeler mix. She is gentle and affectionate, but new to aspects of home life. First person to meet her will fall in love!

We’ve had loads of interest in fostering- thanks everyone for the support! We often get asked to help with litters of pups or mums with young babies. Is anyone open to something like that? We supply everything you need but it’s often a 4-5 week commitment.

We’re gearing up for a large intake this weekend of adult dogs and likely puppies (NOT these dogs but dogs like them!) ! If you’ve ever thought about fostering this would be a good time!

Yellowknife is hoping to find a home for this doggo. He is very quiet and very gentle. He’s only one year old but gets tired quickly because of a serious heart murmur. We don’t know how long of a life he’s going to have but hoping it’s one of comfort and love in a low activity home. If there’s interest, we can work on transport to BC or Alberta

Duchess is a super sweet, non-barking, dog-social middle aged husky who we can’t believe hasn’t even had meets yet. Her fosters think she’s the best girl and all the neighbors love her! We just need a cat free home and someone with a sturdy fence. Senior fee is only $250!
Located in Christina Lake
