One of our clients needs to rehome their beautiful and sweet dog, named Sugar, due to allergies of their newborn. Here is more information:
"Since I was a couple of months old I have lived with my human parents, their now 8 year-old boy, two cats, and recently a new baby. Though I love the new baby, she is sadly very allergic to me, so I am looking for a new family to love!
I am bright and sweet, and love everyone! I just want pets and cuddles and to hang out with you and be your best buddy! Due to my hip dysplasia, I don’t need daily walks. I am happy to run around in my backyard and to sometimes have play dates with my dog friends in the neighbourhood.
I am still able to go up and down the stairs to the backyard as I am responding very well to my monthly Librea shots for pain. If I have a busy day playing I just need a little liquid pain medicine with my dinner and I’m all good.
I love the snow and I love to sing along to my favourite singer Oliver Anthony, especially his song “Always Love You Like a Good Old Dog”.
I don’t go on any furniture, or chew shoes or slippers. I don’t beg for food at the human dinner table (though I’ve not been as good since the baby started eating and throwing steak around! But can you really blame me? It’s just too tempting!). And I’ve been trained not to go down the stairs inside of the house. I sleep in my kennel at night and for most of my naps. I am very treat motivated and I have tricks I’d love to show you! I eat a raw meat diet, but I do well on kibble too. I am fine at home when the family is out all day, I never have accidents in the house!
When I was young my humans were training me to be a dog that could visit hospital patients when I grew up, but shortly after I turned one I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, so they stopped training me to help my hips. But because of my past training I am very sociable with all humans and other dogs!
I’ve done so much better than my vets originally thought when they first diagnosed me, I still have a lot of life in me yet! I hope you’ll consider meeting me and bringing me home with you!"
