Danielle Smith of Danielle Smith Performance Horses based out of Bottrel Alberta is coming to Jen k Ranch and Reining for a 1 Day Reining and Ranch Riding Clinic on July 24th, 2026!!

Danielle specializes in ranch versatility and reining performance horses, earning multiple year-end titles along with an education in coaching through Equine Canada. Her program is built around correct fundamentals, precision, with a strong emphasis on producing competitive, confident horses and effective riders of all ages.

This clinic will focus on refining maneuvers, improving body control and accuracy, and developing the feel and timing required to succeed in the show pen. Riders can expect clear instruction, goal-oriented training, individualized feedback tailored to competitive advancement and tools to add to their training program at home!

This clinic will have limited spots available to ensure personalised coaching for each rider. With only 8 riders, each group will have the opportunity to ride twice, the morning session will be Ranch Riding, and the afternoon will focus on Reining.

Clinic fee $175 per rider

Auditing available for $30 for the day

EHE Diamond Fella “Rio” owned by Jarron Storbakken and Derek Storbakken

Rio attended his first show undersaddle with a total of 4 months training and absolutely crushed it!

He had a beautiful western schooling class, a great introduction to a rail class, he never batted an eye.
Ended the day 3rd in the Open Ranch Rail out of 12 horses.

What a good 3yr boy 👏

Location: Bottrel, Alberta
Starting Immediately

Wendy Nelson Reining and Performance Horses and Danielle Smith Performance Horses are seeking a seasonal assistant to join our program.
This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional reining and performance horse environment.

Duties Include but not limited to:
Daily horse care and barn chores
Saddling and unsaddling
Warming up and cooling out
Assisting with daily training operations
In exchange for-
Daily riding opportunities
Instruction and mentorship from professional horsewomen
Work alongside EC Certified coaches with option to complete EC rider levels.
On-site housing provided
Positive, professional learning environment

Ideal Candidate:
Strong work ethic and reliability
Comfortable working alone or as a team member
Willingness to learn and take direction

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills.
