Riverview Animal Health Centre is staffed by veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians and assistants 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. With our recent expansion, we now operate in almost 12,000 sq ft of space. We are a full-service hospital that offers emergency and referral services, 24 hours a day. We have been proudly serving our community for over 50 years, and accept

patients from all over New Brunswick. Should your pet require overnight or emergency veterinary care, you can rest assured our veterinary team will always be there to help.

Last week, we celebrated the incredible Veterinary Assistants who help make everything we do possible at Riverview Animal Health Centre. ❤️

Our VAs spend so much time with your pets during their visits. They are the comforting voices, the extra hands, the patient advocates, the treat-givers, the laundry-folders, the restraint experts, the late-night helpers, and the team members who jump in wherever needed without hesitation. Their compassion, dedication, and hard work play a huge role in the care your animals receive every single day.
Simply put, we could not provide the level of care that we do without them.

As a special thank you during Veterinary Assistant Appreciation Week, we treated our VA team to a Sip & Shop celebration complete with Pawgaritas and Code Reds (aka Shirley Temples). A small way to
celebrate a team that deserves so much recognition for all that they do.

We’re proud to share that our hospital is Trupanion Certified for the second year in a row! 🐾

What this means for our pet parents: if your pet is insured with Trupanion, we’re able to direct bill, helping reduce out‑of‑pocket costs at the time of care and allowing you to focus on what matters most—your pet.

🐾 Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week 🐾

This week, we are celebrating the 17 incredible receptionists who are the heart of Riverview Animal Health Centre. Each of them brings something unique to our team, and we are so proud of every single one of them.

Our receptionists are the first and last faces our clients see. They answer the phone during some of the most stressful moments—acting like 911 dispatchers for animals, calmly guiding our clients through emergencies. They offer coffee, snacks, and comfort. They sit with clients while their pets are with our medical team. They juggle emotions, urgency, and compassion every single day.

Simply put, they have one of the hardest jobs in our hospital, and they do it with professionalism, kindness, and heart.
Thank you to Kyla, Danica, Meaghan, Donna, Linda, Kim, Taylor, Max, Jessica, Jill, Sharon, Natalie, Sarah, Jamie, Madeline, Gabrielle, and Corinna — Riverview wouldn’t be the same without you. 💙

✨ There’s no place like the vet! ✨

Our patient Olive came in for her checkup today with some very special helpers — Dorothy and Toto 🐾💛

Dorothy (fully dressed for the occasion!) brought along both her stuffed animal Toto and her real‑life pup. Olive saw Dr. Martin for her checkup, while stuffed Toto also had a very important exam of his own and received a clean bill of health too!

Before heading home, our team member Donna couldn’t resist snapping a few photos and clicking her heels with this unforgettable trio.

Moments like these remind us why we love what we do — because a little magic can show up anywhere. 🌈🐶

🐾 Penny’s Story 🐾

Back in early March, Penny’s family was facing every pet parent’s worst fear. Just days later, with advanced diagnostics, spinal surgery, dedicated 24/7 hospital care, and a whole lot of love, Penny began showing us just how resilient she is 💙

As you swipe through, you’ll see snapshots from her journey — and that final video is a moment that still makes us smile. Penny continues her recovery, but her early progress has been nothing short of inspiring.

🐾 New Brunswick Dog Donor Call-Out! 🩸

The Nova Scotia team from the Canadian Animal Blood Bank is hitting the road and heading to Riverview Animal Health Centre for a special donor clinic!

📅 Sunday, June 7th, 2026

We’re looking for 15–20 amazing dogs to volunteer as blood donors. Every donation helps ensure that critically ill or injured pets across Atlantic Canada have access to the blood products they need during emergencies, surgeries, and life-saving treatments.

Perks for our hero donors:

-The chance to help save another pet's life
-Free blood typing, Tick, heartworm and other infectious disease screening
-Bandana and donor collar tag
-Social media recognition
-Life-time free IOU of blood products/ donation
-Microchip (at second donation)

Basic donor requirements:

-Healthy dogs over 55 lbs
-1–8 years old
-Friendly and comfortable with handling
-Up to date on core vaccinations or titers
-On seasonal prevention during warm months

Donations are safe and done without sedation. They typically take about 3-5 minutes. Most dogs relax with lots of love, treats, and belly rubs while they help save lives. 🐾

✨ Girl Guides Take Over the Clinic! ✨

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a local Girl Guides group to the clinic last week for a behind‑the‑scenes tour and a hands‑on learning experience!

These amazing girls (ages 9–11) dove right in — practicing triage on mock ER cases and “treating” their stuffed‑animal patients with so much enthusiasm and curiosity.

Their energy made the whole visit unforgettable. 💙

Marvin recently spent a few days in our hospital for treatment, and his family sent us the most beautiful update to share that he’s back home cuddling, sleeping comfortably, and feeling like himself again. Seeing him so happy and relaxed with his family is exactly why we do what we do.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust his family placed in our team during such a stressful time — and even more grateful to see Marvin thriving. ❤️

✨Breed Spotlight ✨

Meet Lola! Lola is a beautiful 5-month-old Scottish Fold who visited our hospital for a routine spay procedure. Did you know that her breed originated from Scotland, where their folded ears trait was a spontaneous mutation in farm cats?

We wish Lola a speedy recovery from her surgery and we think that her orange after surgery wear shirt really makes her eyes pop! 😻
