EV's Pet Bandanas Etc

EV's Pet Bandanas Etc It all started as a simple hobby... They attach with plastic snap buttons.

All pet bandanas are fully reversible and made with new or previously loved materials, with a layer of interfacing in between, to ensure that they don't roll over time. Sizes and prices:
Small (fit neck between 9" and 12" / cats and small dogs): $12
Medium (fit neck between 13" and 16" / medium dogs): $15
Large (fit neck between 18" and 21" / large dogs): $18

With the leftover material, I make

skin care pads, in packs of 7 (one for each day of the week!). The skin care side of the skin care pads (terry cloth or fleece) is strictly new fabric, but the colorful side is either new or previously loved fabric. Sizes and prices:
Small (3"x3" / pack of 7): $13
Large (5"x5" / pack of 7): $16

Shipping anywhere in Canada is available, for an extra $3. Contact me for custom orders (larger sizes) - if I have fabric that you like on hand, I will do my best to make something for you!

Meet Elli, soon-to-be 4 year-old German Shepherd and philosopher. Elli is a deep thinker, often found in deep contemplation, pondering life’s mysteries. She muses on existential questions such as: does the tennis ball know that it is hollow inside? Why does food always taste better if it is from the cat’s bowl? Why do humans carefully scoop it daily, but when I help myself to litter box crunchies, everybody freaks out? Are you going to eat that hot dog? Did you know that I like hot dogs? If the human calls the cat a good girl and then calls me a good girl, does that make me a cat? Will you throw that ball? If you chase a squirrel at running speed while out with your human, can you still call it a walk? If a human is sick as a dog, do they go to the vet? Who called that a vet anyway, wouldn’t dogtor be better? Can you throw that ball now please? And what about that hot dog? OMG… WHY IS IT CALLED A HOT DOG? Am I a cannibal? Is it time to go for a walk? Now? What about now? Maybe now? Can we stop for ice cream? Bacon flavored ice cream? Be like Elli, and take the time to reflect on life once in a while (and enjoy that hot dog and ice cream, bacon-flavored or otherwise!).

Her Royal Highness Louise the First is back. Of course, she is back! Did you really think that I could post a new bandana design earlier in the week and that she would not request the very first one? She even dispatched her humans for a quick visit in order to pick up the said bandana. I have to admit that it fits her well. However, enough trivial stuff. Louise is here with a very serious message. Consider it a public service announcement of sorts. It is a message of the upmost importance. And really no laughing matter. Please take a moment to compose yourself and have a moment of silence for the victim. Take a deep breath… it could be traumatic: Louise wants you to know that her bowl has been devoid of kibbles for over 3 minutes and 47 seconds. She may need a lawyer soon if this affront to her lifestyle continues much longer. That is if she survived until the next feeding. May this be a source of inspiration. Be like Louise, and face life’s challenges with courage.

Yoshi dropped by, but to lodge a complaint… This 5 year-old Bolognese has been working very hard at developing a tough image. Years of weight lifting to develop his muscles to look impressive and what bandana does his human chose for him? A flowery one! He is no delicate flower! If you must know, he can dead lift a whole hot dog and 2 Oreos. And he is now so brave that he almost stopped shaking if you sneeze too hard in his vicinity. A colossal brute like him deserves a collar with metal spikes, or a bandana with a skull. Not flowers! FLOWERS! Ah, such is the plight of the brave male canine living in a house overrun by fairy tales and princesses. If giving the side eye was an olympic sport, he would be the world champion, as demonstrated on his picture today. Be like Yoshi and know your style (but unlike him, you do have opposable thumbs, so take advantage of those, pick your own clothes and wear them proudly! Flowers or skulls or metal spikes…. you do you!)

Meet Artie, 4 year-old Domestic Shorthair and would-be superhero. He is currently practicing a flying pose, Superman-style, for his future fan mail. He sees himself as a knight-like figure, showing up in moments of distress to offer lifestyle advice inspired by what he does best. Stressed about a never-ending to do list? Take a nap and forget about it for a while. In-laws coming for supper and don’t know what to make? Take a nap and order pizza when you wake up. Piles of laundry to fold? Take a nap right on it and get dressed straight from the pile when you get up. Overindulged on tuna popsicles? You guessed it, there’s a nap for that! In order to protect his identity however, he goes by the name Sir Naps-a-lot. Please help protect his identity and never call him Artie in front of journalists. He can be seen here wearing his brand new motorcycle bandana (What? He is a modern knight! Did you think he would show up on a stinky horse?), size small. Be like Artie, and never miss an opportunity to solve a problem with a good nap. After all, when you have a problem, don’t people tell you to sleep on it?

Anna is back! Our favorite 8 year-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix and kindness ambassador is back, always accompanied by her trusty emotional support red ball. You may remember that Anna’s human got her a bandana subscription, and she is here to show you her very latest. (Don’t tell her, but her next one is in the works!). She also wants to let you know that she has started an advice column on the blog “The Daily Bark”! Ever the supporter of inclusion, she also runs a week-end supplement for non-canine pets called “The Occasional Hiss, Peep and Squawk”. It’s there that she provides advice on life’s big questions…. “Dear Anna. My human seems stressed by the magic glowing screen that he stares at all day while talking to it wearing weird ear covers. He calls that “Not now Pepper. I am working”, but I call that weird. What can I do? Signed, stressed Chihuahua in Moncton”. “Dear stressed Chihuahua in Moncton. It may look funny, but this is apparently how your human can barter for this thing called a salary, which is then exchanged for food, toys and a roof for you. I know it is hard, but you must let him do that a few hours a day. Try to find yourself an hobby (may I recommend an emotional support red ball?), but know that every few hours, you are allowed to go interrupt by rolling over and inviting belly rubs. It is important for your human to stretch every so often and you are there to ensure it.” Be like Anna and provide advice when asked (but only when asked!). And the occasional emotional support red ball.

Louise could simply not stay away, and she is already back. As self appointed CFO (Chief Feline Officer) of my little bandana enterprise, she summoned me to her residence for a business meeting last week-end. It was a long afternoon of negotiations. You see, she also has a well established-career as a nap designer, and, taking quality control very seriously, she test-drove every nap she created that afternoon. Which slowed down our business meeting considerably. She demanded first dibs on any bandana I create (she forgot that she already has that privilege), a royalty paid in canned food instead of kibbles for every bandana I sell (we are considering going to arbitration on that clause) and a ban on dogs on my page (don’t worry, I stood firm and unwavering on that one and dogs will still grace this page. Well, a cat gotta try, I suppose.). She did however make a solid suggestion, which I implemented: as of May 1st, you can find my bandanas (and other little goodies I create with the leftover fabric) at Maritime Crafts & More in Shediac! And of course she wanted a treat as a reward for this brilliant idea! Louise can be seen here wearing one of the very first bandanas I ever made (a testament to how long they last even after being washed!). Be like Louise and get yourself a little treat (and if tuna flavoured lollipops are not your thing, why not go explore Maritimes Craft & More to find the little perfect something for you! And a bandana for your pet, of course!)

Meet Patapouf, 13 year-old Golden Retriever and professional good boy. Patapouf is so proud of himself! After years and years of hoping for it, he finally received his letter for Hogwarts! He always knew that he had magic in him. Oh, he’s been trying to keep it on the down low, but how else can you explain the disappearing sausages in his wake? (Don’t tell anybody, but it was the saussago numnumnum spell.) You think he is carrying random sticks found on his daily walk? Good, because it means that his magic wand remains hidden in plain sight. He can read people’s mind and is always at the right place and the right time as he can predict when you will want to pet him (which is always). Would you mind telling him where he can find an owl? He is so sure that the sorting hat will place him in Hufflepuff that he’s already proudly wearing the colours! He can be seen here wearing his custom-made bandana, made just for him! Be like Patapouf and patiently wait for your letter to Hogwarts (or at least, for a real letter that is not a bill!).

Louise is back! As you may remember, Louise is my grand cat and she graced us with the honour of her presence for a few days on Easter week-end. Of course she requested a new bandana as soon as she arrived. And treats. And canned cat food. And a new catnip cat bed. (I wish I was joking when I say that she got more Easter goodies than her human - my daughter…). She happily got reacquainted with the stairs, her favorite location for crazy zoomies (poor Louise has no stairs where she lives). But like any self-respecting cat, she spent most of her time in quiet introspection. Another word for it is “napping”. She can be seen here showing off her new bandana (size small) as she gaze in the distance trying to remember where all the cat treats are hidden in this house. Be like Louise and take the time to reminisce about the good things. (And who knows? You may remember where you stashed a chocolate bar to hide it from your kids! Not that I have ever done that… talking about a friend here…)
