NOT A SINGLE APPLICATION: If you were born a dog? You better pray. You better pray you weren't born a bully breed. Thank your lucky stars, because if you were, and you ever found yourself apart from your family and at a shelter?
Chances are, you would still be there.
There is an abundance of homeless bullies throughout our provinces in shelters, literally waiting, and continually going unnoticed and overlooked repeatedly by a potential member of the family. Why? We dont know why. But, let us ask you this. Why is it that every Bichon mixed with Maltese with a dash of Chihuahua and a smidgen of miniature poodle is scooped up by every rescue and prospective adopter without a second thought and within record time. Yet, bullies, beautiful well behaved bullies, sit in shelters and rescues throughout our province, with temperaments that are nothing short of amazing, with a zest for life that is precious and with manners that would put every charm school to shame, yet they sit, and sit, and sit.... unwanted.
All because they don't look like a teacup Yorkshire terrier sprinkled with miniature Pomeranian and doused in wait for it.... hypoallergenic fur.
Obviously there is a huge size difference, we aren’t naïve, but our province is in a state of Emergency, small dogs aren’t nearly as impacted, big dogs? Are dying because of their size .
Meet Queenie - A 3-year-old American Bulldog with a heart as big as her blocky head — and a story that deserves a beautiful new chapter after finding herself homeless in a local shelter.
Thankfully, she’s now safe in foster care, and we’ve had the privilege of getting to know who Queenie really is:
A loyal, loving dog who is incredibly well-behaved in the right environment — and so true to her breed.
She is everything you’d expect from a classic American Bulldog — confident, smart, and deeply devoted to her people. Once she bonds with you, it’s for life.
She’s best suited to a calm, structured home where she can be the Queen of her castle. That means:
No small dogs
No cats
No young children
Queenie might accept a confident male dog with proper introductions, as she has in the past, but she’d be just as happy soaking up all the attention for herself.
Queenie is strong on leash and confident outdoors — she’s no pushover, so her new family should be ready for a dog who walks with purpose and pride.
In the right home, Queenie is an absolute gem: gentle, affectionate, and grounded. She’s not just looking for a place to live — she’s looking for her person. Someone who sees her for who she is and can give her the loyalty she so readily gives in return.
Queenie is ready to love hard. Are you ready to love her back?

Thank you for sharing Queenie to your network.
