Hello, Paws4Resiliency friends!

We have a fun and furry update for you all! We have just received a donation of TWO purebred yellow lab puppies (currently 9 weeks old) to be trained and, eventually, certified as service dogs!

If you are interested in starting the process of training your own service dog with us, have the necessary medical requirements to need a service dog, and have the heart and home ready for a puppy, contact us via email at [email protected] for more information.

These dogs will remain in current trusted P4R member foster homes until we find suitable handlers/owners for them. Once adopted, the new owner will be responsible for all future costs of the dog, including vet bills, food, training costs (as a service dog through P4R), etc...

It has recently come to our attention that not everyone is aware of our beliefs and values as an organization. At Paws 4 Resiliency, we want to clarify that we do not tolerate any form of maltreatment—verbal or physical—towards dogs. We take all reports seriously and have a thorough process for investigations. Our team, consisting of passionate trainers, board members, and volunteers, is dedicated to the well-being of both animals and handlers. We encourage open communication, invite those interested to observe or try a free training session, and welcome feedback. Our core mission is to empower individuals with disabilities by offering affordable service dog training, with volunteer trainers committed to ongoing professional development and delivering high-quality services.

Naloxone is a medication used to rapidly reverse the effects of opioid overdose, such as those caused by he**in, fentanyl, or prescription painkillers. It works by binding to the same receptors in the brain that opioids affect, essentially blocking the opioid's effects.

Did you know that Nalaxone Injection can be used on humans AND dogs in the event of an opioid poisoning?

Paws 4 Resiliency is holding a class March 20th two sessions, 2:00pm & 6:00pm instructing how to use Nalaxone Injection. At 305 3rd St NW (the Elks Club). If this sounds like something you’d like to attend, please do! Kits will be given out (as supplies last).

*NO DROP-IN THIS SATURDAY* *JAN 11th 9-11AM*

To ensure that you and your pups are getting the top-notch treatment you deserve from our amazing volunteer trainers, our regular drop-in training and assessments will be cancelled this Saturday January 11th for our annual “Train-the-Trainer” courses.

This course keeps our current trainers up-to-date on different teaching methods, hands-on learning, leadership work with new trainers, and so much more. And, for those beginning their dog training journey with us, it is an amazing opportunity to learn more about the “why” and “how” to train a dog!

Remember we have drop in sessions on Saturday mornings, for anyone who is struggling with any type of training issue or even if you just want to show us your new puppy! Trainers are always on hand to give you tips, train 1 on 1, help you understand your dogs behaviour, body language and needs.
$30 an hour, $15 half an hour. (Additional discount applies if you are already in training with us).
Saturday mornings 9am to 11am
