Friends have been asking how Aurora and Fiona like having a new little brother.
I can say with all honesty, they are tolerating him well 😊.
I don't expect them to immediately love him, he's a bitey, hyper puppy. They are used to being the center of attention at home and are much older than him. This little twerp just took the number one place for 100% attention.
If you've ever received puppy training advice from me, you've heard the words 100% supervision. They will get you through the raptor stage of puppyhood without too many puncture wounds in you, your other dogs and your belongings. It keeps all family members safe and it makes house training so much easier.
If you look closely at this video, you can see Aurora giving him many subtle cues to not approach. She's not in the mood. She doesn't need to growl or snap at him because he is figuring out what her boundary is and is pretty respectful of it. Also, if she needed me to I would have stepped in to help her. She doesn't have to be in charge or show him who's boss because she knows I've got her back.
She didn't ask for this but shes tolerating him because I asked her to. She has healthy boundaries and as long as he and I respect them, she knows shes safe to let him know what her bubble is. It's my job to train him to be a respectable family member but I appreciate her help.
And yes, after I finished recording I got him away from her so she could enjoy her evening in peace. She definitely doesn't think he's as cute as I do but she is enjoying him in short play sessions 🐾❤️
