We met the boys today. They are both friendly.
Taco liked to rub his snout on my legs and feet. He was very curious, as are some of the pigs we have here at the sanctuary. This behaviour is normal and is a way of checking you out and getting to know new people. Taco was happy to scratch up against me immediately. He offered “hot pants” which is a sign of affection. He really is a sweet fella, he had no issue laying down for a belly rub. He could use a little more “move the pig technique” just to ensure that he knows you are the boss.
Tube, whom was originally called Tube Steak, is more shy. He will lay down for a good belly rub but he is happy to do his own thing. He has Elvis like hair on his head that stole my heart instantly.
Since they are bonded, it would be best to keep them together. Many people who enquired about them were hoping for both males to be neutered. We have a few days to decide if anyone has any interest in them. They will surely be good pets for many years to come.
If no one comes forward, we will collect donations to pay Tube’s fee, as well as pay for Taco’s castration. These boys can then live with us for a bit while we assess how they are around cats, dogs, pigs, ducks and chickens. Our goal is to find them a forever home. They deserve to be well cared for like they have been the last few years.
