Animal Services for:
Ponoka County, Town of Ponoka, Stettler County, Starland County and The Camrose County. We are very passionate about helping dogs and cats anywhere in Alberta where there is no animal services in place, if space allows us. Martine started Old MacDonald Kennels Pet Boarding to raise money to afford her rescue. Please keep Old MacDonald Kennels in mind if you are going on a vac

ation. If you wish to relinquish a pet, you must phone the rescue first for approval and be prepared to pay a surrender fee for us to take responsibility for your pet if we have space. You may have to go on a waiting list. All our shelter animals are vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed, micro chipped. You will also receive a personalized identification tag and a free bag of food. Adults and dogs over 6 months - $425.00
pups under the age of 6 months -and small dogs $575.00
cats and kittens - $175.00

When we have space available we will welcome surrenders. Please call for more information. Pet boarding fees
one dog - $25.00/night, any additional dogs sharing a kennel for $10.00 more. Cats - $15.00/night
any additional cats sharing a kennel for $5.00 more.

This sweet boy was found roaming around the correctional facility near Maskwacis with a group of dogs for the past few weeks before coming into our care. While Gilmore might be lacking in stature, he more than makes for it with his outstanding character and his loveable personality!
Gilmore has been friendly towards the other dogs at the shelter and is pretty indifferent towards the cats as well. Gilmore loves toys, especially collecting them on his bed to keep them safe. He loves going on for walks and usually has his hound nose glued to ground the whole time.
He loves to be cozy and can usually be found on a couch or a fluffy bed on the ground. He loves to window watch and fancies himself as an alert dog if something catches his eye. Otherwise, he can be found following us all around the facility to see what we are up too.
If you’re looking for a stubby dog with a big personality, Gilmore is your boy!

This girl came into our care at the end of February with her sister, Mavis, from Beaver County and unfortunately neither of them were claimed. Marcy is now super ready to get out into the world and find a family to call her own!
Marcy is a sweet, playful girl with a fun personality that makes her an absolute joy to be around. While she enjoys running around the yard and playing fetch, she is also just as happy to spend quality time with her people.
She loves going for walks and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who enjoys staying active but also knows how to unwind. Marcy is very friendly and enjoys being around people, happily soaking up attention whenever she can.
Marcy appears good with cats and appears to do well with other dogs, especially females. If you’re looking for a sweet dog who brings both playful energy and sweet affection, Marcy could be the perfect addition to your home!
