Today we say goodbye to a true legend at Teacherspet Pet Retreat — our beloved Clarke ❤️
Approximately 17 years old, Clarke wandered on to this property about 14 years ago and never left. From that day on, he became so much more than just a cat — he became the heart of the kennel.
Clarke greeted customers and their dogs like it was his full-time job, always ready to supervise the front entrance, stroll through the kennel, or demand attention from anyone passing by. He took great pride in keeping rodents out of the kennel and made sure everyone knew this was his property.
Over the years, hundreds of people met Clarke. He became our mascot, our greeter, our supervisor, and a comforting familiar face to staff, clients, and pets alike. He had a personality bigger than life itself and managed to charm absolutely everyone he met.
Last year, Clarke even attended our wedding as an honorary guest, doing exactly what he did best — mingling with everyone and making sure he was the center of attention. We will cherish this memory forever.
Clarke has been battling hyperthyroidism since the winter and never took well to the medication, but even through it all, he remained stubborn, strong, and determined to do things his own way. In true Clarke fashion, he caught a chipmunk last night, he was our best hunter right until the very end.
Known by everyone and loved by all, Clarke leaves behind a huge empty space at Teacherspet Pet Retreat. The kennel will never quite be the same without him watching over the place.
Rest easy now beside your buddy Diesel — the best cat & dog we will ever know. 🌈🐾
Thank you for all the unforgettable years, Clarke. You were truly one of a kind 💙💙💙
