***Note we are located in Canada*** Puppies cannot cross the US border until 6 months old so we place them in Canada only.

Well, it never rains but it pours...
Gertrude went into heat on October 5th and we notified all on our list. We are doing Progesterone testing to ensure that she ovulates and although we have already done a breeding with Jed, we will most likely do a couple of TCIs to ensure pregnancy and to cut a band that she has that is in the way if she was to whelp naturally.

Yesterday both Faith and Reese went into heat. We will be breeding them because we will not have time to know if Gertrude is pregnant and both Reese and Faith are getting older. We know that Faith was not bred long enough last time - we stopped on day 9/10 but luckily Frank was very fertile and his semen lasted 5 days.
Our plan is to also breed to Jed but if it becomes too much for Jed we have Max frozen and could use him for Faith....

So needless to say if you have been waiting, since we did not want a bunch of people on the list, now is the time to let us know and reserve a puppy. Please PM us. Thank you.

Anesthesia and the Mastiff By Robin M. Smith, DVM I thought that I would talk about anesthesia concerns and the mastiff since that is the most frequently asked question I get from mastiff owners. First off, you MUST have a veterinarian that is willing to listen to you and who is not afraid to be ...

Quinn is on her way for a two week trial with the Borotsik family to Georgetown Ontario. She will have a five year old male mastiff as a big brother from NorthernPaws mastiffs and from similar lines. We wish them a safe journey and hope it all works out well. Stay tuned. We welcome the Borotsik family to our Knighterrant Mastiff family.
