On Wednesday, I said goodbye to my best friend of almost 12 years.

He was fierce, protective, and loyal. His favourite things were walks, fishing (and trying to catch the fish), his ball, and his favourite squeaky pig. Training him taught me to be patient. He’d much rather give you the furry finger and do things his own way. That was part of what made him so special.

He was by my side through my entire childhood and so many chapters of my life. I’m waiting for him to ask for a walk or bark at the smallest sound. My heart feels heavier, and I miss him more than words can describe.

Thank you for every adventure, every laugh, and every memory. Be free, sweet boy. You will be loved and missed forever. 💙

Honestly, the Golden Retriever twist was a big surprise🤣 and we were wrong…No mastiff at all! The super mutt mix DNA is believed to be German Shepard / beagle.
