Important information from our colleagues at Westlock Veterinary Center regarding the current colostrum shortage. Please plan ahead and contact your veterinary team with any questions.

🚨 Colostrum Update 🚨

This weather hasn’t been easy on our spring calving producers… and to top it off, colostrum is currently out of stock with all of our suppliers. There is no estimated time of return at this point.

A few things we’re recommending right now:

🥛 When you can, milk and collect from your own cows
🧊 Freeze and store extra when you have it

Having your own supply on hand can make all the difference when things don’t go according to plan.

If you’re short, or have questions about collection, storage, or your options, give us a call. We’ll help however we can.

If you’ve wrapped up calving and have extra on hand, feel free to comment below… there may be a neighbour who could use it 👀

🐾 It’s Veterinary Receptionist Week! 🐾

From the first phone call to the final checkout, our receptionists are there every step of the way — coordinating care, answering questions, and making sure both pets and people feel supported.

🐾 Puppy’s First Vet Visit

Bringing your puppy in for their very first exam is an exciting milestone—for both of you! 💕

At their first visit, we’ll:
✔️ Perform a full nose-to-tail health check
✔️ Discuss vaccines & deworming
✔️ Talk nutrition, training, and parasite prevention
✔️ Answer all your new puppy questions

And of course… there are always a few cuddles (and sometimes a well-earned nap after 😴🐾)!
