Attention all clients!

Reminder that with inventory coming the clinic has some ordering deadlines to make inventory as streamlined as possible!

Please see the below housekeeping dates below:

Friday Mar 21st:
Compounded/special order medications (any of our liquid medications, gabapentin 50 mg, metronidazole 50mg, enalapril, telmisartan- to name a few)

Thursday Mar 27th:
This is the last day for food orders/any medication orders

Friday Mar 28th:
This is the last day for medication/food pick up

Mar 31st:
We will be CLOSED EARLY @ 4pm for inventory. In case of an emergency please contact Southern Alberta Veterinary Emergency @ 403-995-3270

April 1st:
We will be back to regular business hours and will be open again @ 9am and closing @ 6pm. As of April 1st, we will now be asking that any special order foods be prepaid at time of ordering. Alternatively, you can check out our online Vet store and have your food ordered to your doorstep! This can be done by checking out our website!

Today was cat neuter day!!!🥜✂️🐈🐈‍⬛

Our amazing techs Mercedes and Mikayla were super excited to see these 4 boys from Claresholm Animal Rescue Society on the schedule today! (L to R) Olaf, Ray, Gomez, and Riley were amazing for their visit and stole the surgical teams hearts!❤️

They may be leaving the clinic without their manhood but they’re leaving us with our hearts full! We even featured them in our newest tiktok video!!

This is an amazing rescue and we hope you check them out for your next adoption needs!

🍀🍀 HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY! 🍀🍀

Our team managed to get pics with almost all of our patients today! We were sure lucky to have them all take a picture for us in our blinged out necklace!! (Naturally, there were a lot of treats involved)

Dear Wonderful Clients,
It is coming up on our biannual inventory count again - March 31st. To accommodate this, we will be closing down on Monday, March 31st at 4pm. Reopening on Tuesday, April 1st at 9:00am. In case of an emergency please contact SAVE (Southern Alberta Veterinary Emergency) at 403 995 3270 – SAVE is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Please note that due to inventory, the last day to order food and non-compounded medication is on Thursday, March 26th and for compounded medication, the last day for ordering is Friday, March 21st. Please check your stock and if you need any food or medication, please give us a call at 403 982 8387 to order before the mentioned dates. The next order will be placed on April 1st for food and medications and will arrive April 3rd. Please note that our online store is always open and can be delivered right to your door https://www.myvetstore.ca/ .

To our valued clients;

Our team hopes you had a fabulous Holiday season and we wish you all a Happy New Year. May 2025 bring you and your pets many fabulous adventures!

Please be advised we have some new policies in place in regards to prescriptions. Please note these changes will be implemented to ensure medication availability so our team can serve you and your pets better in the new year. If we have any medications on backorder or in short supply one of our devoted staff members will contact you. Due to staff availability, any walk-in or short order in-clinic refills will be declined at this time. Remember that our team is here to serve you to the best of our ability and any verbal abuse to our staff is not tolerated.

If your pet has the following conditions requiring daily medications to improve said condition it is vital that medications get ordered well in advance so we can ensure we have it in stock.
-Heart disease
-Seizure disorders
-Hyperthyroidism
-Hypothyroidism
-Cushing's disease
-Addison's disease
-Collapsing trachea

Special Order/Compounded Prescriptions including but not limited to:
Methimazole (all forms)
Fluoxetine (all forms)
Furosemide
Pimobendan
Telmisartan
Metronidazole 50mg or liquid
Gabapentin liquid
Cyclosporine eye drops (all forms)

***Please allow up to 5-7 business days for refills as some of these medications are shipped from an Ontario pharmacy.

Lifelong/Chronic/Controlled medications:
Phenobarbital **controlled
Diazepam **controlled
Buprenorphine **controlled
Hydrocodone **controlled
Thyro Tabs
Methimazole
Felimazole
Furosemide
Pimobendan
Metacam/meloxadin
Gabapentin

****Please allow for up to 5-7 business days for refills as we may have to order these in and all controlled drug refills need to be approved by a Dr. as we cannot have open refill requests on file.

Faxed prescriptions to other pharmacies:
Please allow for up to 1-3 business days for these to be approved by a Dr. Reminder to please ask your pharmacy how many refills you have left and order medications accordingly to avoid any patients missing medication doses

Antibiotics/Ear Meds/Eye Meds:
If you have previously been prescribed any antibiotics for UTI’s, ear infections, eye infections, skin infections etc. Our governing body states that we legally cannot refill these medications without a Dr. seeing your pet. This is to reduce antibiotic resistance in our pet population.

Remember that we legally cannot fill any prescriptions if we have not seen your pet for an exam at least once yearly. This is a guideline put out by our governing body. This is to ensure we have an established Veterinary Patient Client Relationship with you and we can adjust medication dosing as needed based on their weight and symptoms. Note that depending on the medication you may be asked to have blood work performed.
