🤍 We are excited to introduce Kiernan, the first pup of our program, who will be arriving at The Barklay tomorrow!

Stay tuned to watch for the story of his arrival!

Kiernan was a wreck of a puppy when he came to us—found with a broken tibia, underweight, and infested with parasites. He required immediate surgery to alleviate his pain, and we are happy to report that his recovery has gone well.

At just 5.5 months old, Kiernan is a bit behind on his training due to restrictions during his healing process. He knows how to sit and is learning to walk on a leash. While he eagerly wants to play with other dogs, we have had to limit heavy exercise as his leg continues to heal. He is comfortable in his crate, settled in vehicles, and absolutely loves people—though he can be quite demanding for attention, which we are addressing.

Kiernan is quick to solve puzzle toys, vocal during feeding time, and makes excellent eye contact with humans. He will need a home that respects the results of his surgery and can manage his play and exercise time. While he enjoys the company of children, we recommend a more adult home for him at this time. His full-grown weight is likely to be around 70 lbs.

We've got you covered with our Sunday Puppy Socialization classes. Our expert-led program provides a safe and stimulating environment for your young pup to learn valuable social skills, build confidence, and make furry friends for life.

Every Sunday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, your pup can explore our outdoor yards with friends!

We're proud to introduce Emily, a true advocate for dogs. For over 10 years, she's dedicated herself to helping canines find loving homes, starting at the Humane Society. Her certification as a Dog Behaviour and Aggression Therapist shows her commitment to understanding and supporting every dog's needs. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading, and spending time with her horse.

We're thrilled to have her expertise leading our team!

When introducing new friends to playtime or your home, we encourage you to use positive reinforcement techniques. This means rewarding good behavior with treats, praise, or extra playtime. 🤍 Please note, we can only wash dog blankets at this time due to size limitations in our washer and dryer. Unfortunately, we can't accommodate dog beds. Thank you for understanding, and we can't wait to pamper your furry friends!
