We have some sad news to share.

Our good mare Queen, AQHA registered as Electric Boon, was PTS this weekend.

After coming up open this spring, she had a rough time after we weaned her foal this fall. She was losing weight. Then attacked by a dog. And still not recovering well. Then seemingly out of nowhere, she damaged her eye pretty severely. A vet visit determined that she has some nerve damage in her face, loss of muscle mass in her jaw. Plans were made to take the eye out and try and nurse her through the winter. A second vet visit and consultation, discovered more nervous deficits. Pointing to a likely brain tumor and a very poor prognosis.

So we let her go, before something really ugly happened. We are sad to see her go. She produced 3 amazing foals for us. Her oldest in in the states starting her roping training and looks phenomenal. She has been the boss mare here, and was by far the best at her job. She ruled without being mean but didn't stand for much nonsense.

So sad to see her go, but glad we could give her a good end.

I just want to say thank you 😊
