Happy Vet Assistant Appreciation Week!
These 6 individuals are an essential part of the day to day tasks around the clinic.
You can find them setting up for surgery, assisting the technicians in preop and recovery, aiding the vets in appointments, cuddling your furry friends when they can, and even scrubbing into surgery procedures!
Our clinic would not run as smoothly as it does without them!
We are so lucky to have each and every one of them on our team and as a part of our RVC family!

Did you know Heartworm season is starting soon and goes till November ?
Heartworm is carried through mosquitoes, when the infected mosquito bites another dog, cat, or susceptible wild animal, the infective larvae are deposited onto the surface of the animal’s skin and enter the new host through the mosquito’s bite wound.
The larvae turn into foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body.
All dogs should be tested annually for heartworm infection, which is called a 4Dx test and it also tests for Lyme disease and other tick borne diseases. This can usually be done during a routine visit for preventive care or as a technician appointment.
Keeping your pet on heartworm prevention from June-November is best practice.
