While we love spring for the warmer weather and sunnier days, it also likes to bring with it a bit more rain…and more puddles! When your pet is outside, keep them from drinking stagnant water or puddles. Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection spread through the urine of infected wildlife that is often found in water and soil. The bacteria can live for days in its environment and cause severe illness for your pet. Feel free to reach out to us for more information about how to protect your pet.

Even cats who are indoors most of the time can still be at risk of contracting diseases that parasites carry. Be sure to bring them in to the clinic this spring so we can help make sure they are protected!

On World Veterinary Day, April 26, 2025, we celebrate the essential work of veterinarians and the wider veterinary community. This year's theme is "Animal Health Takes a Team." This event highlights the important collaboration among veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other professionals to ensure the best possible care for animals and to protect human health.

Today, we celebrate everything amazing about veterinary medicine. We celebrate our entire team, our wonderful patients and clients, and our community.

We especially want to recognize our three amazing veterinarians, Dr. Leckie, Dr. Randall, and Dr. Osborn. We thank them for their dedication, passion, and commitment to improving the lives of animals. Happy World Veterinary Day! It is an honour to work alongside all of you every day.

We love our reception team!

It’s National Veterinary Receptionist Week, and we want to celebrate our amazing veterinary receptionists, Tammy and Jenn!

They are the first voices you hear when you call the hospital and the first smiling faces you see when you walk through the door. They work tirelessly to support our clients and patients with empathy, compassion, and care, advocating for them when they cannot speak for themselves.

Tammy and Jenn we want you to know that your work is invaluable, and we appreciate you every day! Thank you!

Cats can be pretty fastidious about their grooming, so if you notice changes in their coat or grooming habits it is best to bring them into their veterinarian for an exam. Decreased grooming and a more dishevelled looking coat can be signs of an underlying medical issue.
