Sunrise Animal Hospital was purchased in May of 1987 by Dr. Hendrik DeZeeuw, and the company was incorporated in December of that same year. Dr. Sanjay Ralhan joined the company in 1990 and in 1995 he formed a partnership with Dr. DeZeeuw. The original location of Sunrise Animal Hospital was at 1 Sunrise Avenue in Mount Pearl, N

L. Land was purchased at 222 Park Avenue and after the construction of the new hospital was complete, the new and improved Sunrise Animal Hospital opened for business on December 31 2007. Today Sunrise Animal Hospital Ltd. has two Hospitals. The Torbay Road Animal Hospital opened in 1997 and is located at 286 Torbay Rd., Coaker's Meadow Plaza in St. John's NL. We want to share an important update with our clients about appointment availability at Sunrise Animal Hospital.

For the time being, appointment availability is temporarily limited, and some requests may take a little longer than usual. We understand how important it is to be able to access care when your pet needs it, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
We are working hard to support our patients and make care available as quickly as possible.

As part of this effort, we are now working with a virtual veterinarian, Dr. Jessica Clark, to offer virtual veterinary appointments through Sunrise.

For eligible appointments, Dr. Clark will join by video while a member of our veterinary team is here in the clinic with you and your pet to assist with the appointment and examination.

Not every appointment or medical concern is suitable for a virtual appointment, but for certain types of visits, this option may allow us to see your pet sooner. Our reception team can help determine whether a virtual appointment may be appropriate when you contact us.

We are also continuing to work on expanding our veterinary team and appointment availability, and we will keep you updated as things change.

💊 Prescription Refills

We are asking clients to please provide as much notice as possible when requesting prescription refills.

Some prescription requests require review by a veterinarian, and with appointment availability currently limited, these requests may take longer than usual.

If you expect your pet will need a medication refill between now and October 1, please contact us as early as possible, even if you are not quite ready for the refill yet. Advance notice will give our team more time to review and process your request and help prevent your pet from running out of medication.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We know how important your pets are to you, and their care remains our priority. 💙

We will continue to keep you updated as appointment availability changes.
