😿 URGENT: 8 Tame cats dumped on the South Shore — Donations & Fosters Needed.

These very tame cats have been dumped and it’s breaking my heart. The nights are getting colder and we (Susan Mackasey ) and (PetitsPawz) want to get them off the street.

đŸŸ Meet Them

Hope – gentle, loving mama with 3 tiny kittens (about 1 year old)
Charlotte – 3-month-old baby, nervous but tryin hard to trust
Bourbon – approx 2-year-old pregnant girl who urgently needs a safe space to give birth
Grizzly – playful, bright approx 5-month-old full of personality
Teeg – feral male who will be TNR’d (trapped, neutered, returned) and cared for outdoors

Our goal: $1,500 to cover some of the care and vetting. I’m working to get every one of them to safety, but I urgently need your help.

Every dollar helps.

💌 How to Donate
E-transfer: [email protected]

Direct to vet: [email protected] (mention for South Shore cats in comment area).

Credit card: via Bonsai (message me for link)

(Note: PayPal is no longer accepted for security reasons.)

If you can’t donate, a simple share can help these cats find the support they need before the weather turns worse.

They didn’t ask to be abandoned — but with your help, they won’t be left out in the cold.

💛 Thank you,
Susan Mackasey & PetitsPawz

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED - đŸŸ URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR 2 YEAR OLD RINGO đŸŸ

💔 His Story
Ringo has had a hard start. An English Bull Terrier, he had a home that loved him, but they weren't equipped for his energy and so he spent most of his time confined to a crate. This was far from what he needed. He was then given to someone living on a farm, but it wasn’t a good fit. He is currently being kept in a vacant horse stall. Now, unless we find a foster home immediately, he may be sent to the SPCA. While the SPCA does wonderful work, it’s not the best place for a high-energy, affectionate boy like Ringo. He deserves a chance in a home where he can thrive. He walks very well on a leash.

💙 About Ringo
Age & energy: He’s only two years old and very much a puppy at heart — full of energy, playful, rambunctious, and curious. He loves to carry things around and chew on toys like a typical young dog. He barks alot when confined and/or frustrated.
Personality: Extremely affectionate — Ringo adores people and just wants to be loved. He bonds quickly and craves attention.

Crate habits: He has spent a lot of time in a crate in the past, which caused him to bark out of frustration. While he doesn’t necessarily need a crate now, he’s familiar with one, but ideally he should spend much less time confined.

Other animals: At this stage, Ringo should be placed in a home with no other dogs, cats, or small animals until we better understand his reactions.

Health: He’s fully vetted, sterilized, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

🏡 What He Needs in a Foster
A loving home with time and patience for an energetic young dog
Someone who can give him exercise, attention, and structure
A pet-free household (for now)
A safe, stable environment where he won’t be left crated for long hours

📣 How You Can Help
If you or someone you know can open your home — even short-term — please reach out immediately to me (Susan Mackasey/). Ringo just needs someone to give him love, patience, and a chance to be the wonderful companion he is.

Please share this post widely. Together we can keep Ringo safe and give him the start he deserves.

RECHERCHE FAMILLE D'ACCUEIL URGENTE - đŸŸ RECHERCHE FAMILLE D'ACCUEIL URGENTE POUR RINGO, 2 ANS đŸŸ

đŸŸ Quick Wins to Build a Better Bond đŸŸ

Bonding with your dog doesn’t have to be complicated — it’s the little things you do every day that make the biggest difference. 💛

Here are 6 simple ways to strengthen your relationship with your pup:
1ïžâƒŁ Play a 5-minute training game — short & fun builds trust.
2ïžâƒŁ Let them sniff on walks — it’s like checking their social media feed!
3ïžâƒŁ Celebrate the small wins — “Yes, good dog!” goes a long way.
4ïžâƒŁ Talk to them like a teammate — calm, happy tones build connection.
5ïžâƒŁ Spend 10 minutes of solo time — no phones, just presence.
6ïžâƒŁ Narrate the day — dogs love routine and predictability.

✹ Remember: bonding isn’t always about training — it’s about trust, presence, and celebrating the small moments together.

👉 Which of these do you already do with your dog? Drop it in the comments — we’d love to hear! đŸ¶đŸ’Ź

URGENT - PREDATOR IS STEALING MULTIPLE CATS FROM PINCOURT AND RELOCATING THEM - POSSIBLY ALL OVER THE WEST ISLAND AND MONTREAL.

We have proof - in the meantime, time is off the essence.
This beautiful cat on the left has been posted on several groups as being wandering for several weeks in Montreal North. AS MENTIONED, there is a human predator, on the West Island, who is trapping and relocating many people's pets all over, including 2 of my friends' cats. The cat on the right is my friend's missing cat.

We believe this may be my friend's stolen and relocated cat. They even have the same beige/white puff on the tail. We are trying to reach the original poster (cat on left) but cannot get in touch. We are desperate to find the whereabouts of this cat who is roaming in Montreal North, so we can find the cat and check for a chip - my friend can bring the microchip checker on site, as she is a vet tech.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of this cat, please let me (Susan Mackasey) know asap. Please post in Montreal groups. I am not a member of Montreal North groups and time is of the essence. THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION WITH OTHER CATS INVOLVED. We have lots of proof but need to find these cats, ASAP. Any help would be appreciated! Please no judgement about letting cats .

For pets and their people since 2010

MDB started as a charity-driven, volunteer web blog (www.montrealdogblog.com) in 2010 to provide an informative, educational space for Montreal pet owners.

It featured multiple bloggers, volunteering their expertise in a range of topics: vet care, training, ‘green’ pet care, rescue news, grooming, life with pets in general. As well as providing local listings/ads for pet services.

All revenue generated by the blog was donated at the end of the year to local rescues (“Paw It Forward” campaign). To date, that has been approx $40 000.

The blog officially retired in August 2019 - but remains a strong community-based fixture on Facebook and continues to raise funds for animal rescues.
