⭐️ UP FOR ADOPTION! ⭐️

Meet Penelope!

Through no fault of her own Penelope is looking for a new home! She is a three year-old purebred Labrador and comes from a fantastic breeder! She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines and she is being fed a raw diet and will be on a weight loss journey as well.

Situations changed with her previous family and she was brought back to the breeder to find her new home. They have reached out to us to help with Penelope’s training to better prepare her for her new home and to help with the rehoming process. Penelope will be learning some impulse control and overall obedience and leash skills while she is with us.

She is one super sweet girl! She has a lot of love to give as labradors do but she just needs to learn some impulse control. She is good with people and kids, but we are working on her greeting skills on leash. Cats are work in progress right now, but I feel with the right introductions, she will be fine. Other dogs she can get very excitable around and pushy so we are working on her intensity as well. With proper introductions, she will do good!

She is a typical lab and loves the water! Her brother is an incredible dock diver along with her parents. If you have a cottage or live on the lake, she would be one hell of a water, buddy! She truly is looking for her forever family, who is able to give her the proper exposure and activity that she needs.

Penelope will have our training program completed upon adoption. She will come with a training contract to make sure that everyone is on the right page and she continues to thrive in her new home. She will also be supplied with a month worth of raw food.

Adoption applications are open now for Penelope, but please be aware of her final adoption will not take place until after her training is complete in two weeks. Hopefully we find her new home soon and you can be a part of her training process!

We cannot stress to our clients how important it is to be 100% transparent with your dogs behaviours upfront.

Giving me absolutely 100% of information will ultimately help me and you to train the dog effectively and safely from day one. Accidents do happen, but we trainers need to know every ounce of your dogs triggers before we start any training or rehabilitation.

Our approach and introductions to your dog are crucial at establishing a solid relationship from the beginning. Sugarcoating behaviors, or anything else with your dog will not only harness your training but the relationship we are trying to create as well. Training is not just about training a dog! It’s about your lifestyle your routines, your day-to-day life, and how the dog is integrated into that. If we are not starting from a puppy, you need to be transparent and tell us all training you have done, methods you may have tried on the dog already and how they respond to certain situations or triggers already.

This is not a single anyone out at all! We have had a few incidents where I am not fully aware of what has been done with the dog until after an incident has happened and then I am brought up to speed. We are then told the story of “this one time.” We need to be aware of this prior! We do not ask these questions for the hell of it. We are not here to judge we are not here to put you down we are here to help! 100% of transparency will help us do that!

We will be adding some new policies to our waiver forms and questionnaires as well moving forward to hopefully solidify that transparency. We do not want to take steps backwards. We only want to take steps forward!

One of the things I start working on in our intermediate group classes and extensive private training programs is the emergency down!

No matter what your dog is doing, if they hear the word down for whatever reason they should halt in place and lie down. This is great in emergency situations or if you need to get your dogs attention for whatever reason.

Once I teach this to my dogs, I practice the odd time here and there to keep their skills sharp with this one. Never underestimate the power your voice has at a distance! I tell my dogs to wait in their down position as I kick the ball, they are then released, told to down on their way to the ball, and then released to go get the ball. My dogs take off quick towards their toys, so I give the command to drop pretty much right away. You can see them slow down immediately and go into the down position!

This is why I always talk about getting your dog neutral on place but also providing stimulation for the dog itself!

I have two 8 month old Puppies and Stark with me at a family function. To keep them occupied through dinner I brought some bones for them. They all got a cow ear and a bully stick to chew on. This kept them occupied through dinner and set the tone for my expectations right away. It puts the dogs into a neutral behaviour and they are able to occupy themselves as we eat and have a good time.

After dinner was done, the dogs were able to be free off of their places where I could then supervise interactions. We are celebrating my dad’s birthday and Father’s Day and it is nice to be able to include the dogs!

Bolt is with us for three more days until he goes to his new home and he is doing spectacular! He still needs the leash for guidance, but he is doing a heck of a lot better in every scenario! Jarvis only needed a couple of reminders today for behaviors, but otherwise did fantastic! 🥰

Varys the Dalmatian will be coming all the way from Quebec to join our training program in August! 🐶

This two year-old boy is super sweet, but needs to learn some more impulse control! He will also be learning some new social skills within the pack and learning to respond when distractions are present.

He has some basic obedience under his belt, but we want to be able to trust him more off leash and in different scenarios. We are super excited to work with this boy and to see all of his potential! see you in a couple of months Varys!

Please keep bringing me all of the Dalmatians!😅🥰

Duke (left) and Apollo (right) are here for daycare and these boys are so amazing!🥰

They know the rules to a T when they are here. We call them our “naked“ dogs. This is because I do not need their E-Collar a leash or any type of guidance on these dogs whatsoever inside my home. I put the E-Collar on for safety when we go outside, but I very rarely ever have to use it.

Their parents do a good job of keeping up with rules when the dogs are home so it makes transitions very easy when they come to me for daycare. I do not have to worry about a thing with these boys.🥰

Absolutely speechless! 🤯

Maui is only on lesson 2 and absolutely killing it! Stacey did a great job introducing pressure training and thresholds to Maui week one and it truly showed when we transitioned to her walking collar. We made communication easier for Maui to understand with the prong. Her excitement, strength and jumping does not escalate to the point of frustration. The pressure training introduced with the slip lead made this communication clear and possible.

Prongs are excellent tools when used properly and also teaching the dog expectations without the cover of the prong. Maui knows now her thresholds and expectations but the prong holds her accountable when needed and gentle pressure for guidance when direction is needed.

Not only was I able to have Stark work with us but we were also able to have Jarvis join as well! Maui walking and keeping perfect pace with Stacey, not pulling with a nice loose leash and looking to mom for guidance. She also did an incredible job passing by a dog she normally would have went crazy towards!

Jarvis also was an incredible boy helping Maui learn. He was not pushy, kept his focus with me and needed minor redirections. Very proud of his demo dog progress so far.

Well done Maui and Stacey! ⭐️

Winston has started his immersive day training program with us and so far doing great!

Getting this stubborn boy to come out of his shell was a challenge the first couple of days for sure. Also working through some insecurities and learning to trust the handler. We are working much better as a team now and he understands that when he gets corrected, he must look to me for guidance instead of flat out ignoring me or trying to dodge his obedience. He is able to have longer sessions as he is not so confused and pushing buttons less and less.

Winston is well started on the right track. Over his training program, we will address his reactivity with other dogs and certain people. Work on his impulse control, recall and his intensity in the car. We will be introducing ecollar communication with him near the end of training to better solidify his commands and off leash accountability.

Nice seeing the s***k come out of you Winston, instead of being so uptight! He also wins points for having the absolute best to goatee 😎

Dallas is a 7 month old pure bred liver Dalmatian puppy (8 months on June 17). He is intact, up to date on shots and currently located in Peterborough, Ontario. He is the sweetest boy and through no fault of his own, situations changed with his old family and he was brought back to the breeder to find a new forever home.

I own his brother Jarvis and these dogs are stable in temperament and incredibly intelligent. Dallas is learning new behaviours fast while he is with us and gaining new social skills. He is great with my dogs and cats he is more curious about than anything. I have two cats and no issues.
