And just like thatβ¦ today is my last day at Wizard of Pawsβ¨
Five years ago, I walked through those doors fresh out of grooming school, with a lot of enthusiasm, a pair of scissors, and so much left to learn.
And somehow, Abbee and I went from putting up drywall toβ¦ here we are today. π₯Ή
The end of this chapter is definitely bittersweet.
Every single client β furry and not-so-furry β has played a part in shaping me into the groomer I am today. Every haircut, every challenge, every mistake, every little breakthrough, every dog who taught me something newβ¦ it all mattered.
I will treasure these five years for the rest of my life, and I will be forever grateful for the people and dogs who were part of them. β€οΈ
Those who know me well know that dog grooming has never really been just a job for me.
Itβs a passion.
An obsession.
A slightly concerning level of obsession, if weβre being completely honest. π
When Iβm not in the salon grooming my precious clients, you can bet Iβm probably doing something grooming-related anyway β studying breed standards, learning anatomy, obsessing over shampoos and ingredients, preparing for the next competition, or sc******ng my poodle for the 47th time because surely this time Iβll get it right.
And now, that passion is taking me somewhere new.
I am beyond excited β and a little emotional β to announce the opening of my very own private grooming studio:
π SPAGHETTI POODLES π
If you didnβt know, my love for dogs and poodles has also manifested itself into an ever-growing collection of retro poodle statuesβ¦ so naturally, Spaghetti Poodles was the only reasonable name. π
Spaghetti Poodles was born from my love of technical grooming and my desire to create a truly dog-centred space.
Everything has been thought out with the dogs in mind β from the setup and colours to the sounds, smells and little details β because I believe they deserve more than simply a haircut.
They deserve to feel safe, respected and cared for.
My dream of creating a low-stress, compassionate, one-on-one grooming experience is finally becoming a reality.
And I couldnβt have done it without the people who have supported me along the way.
To all of my special Wizard of Paws clients who have decided to follow me into this crazy new adventure: thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your dogs, believing in me, and allowing me to continue being part of their lives. I am so incredibly grateful for every single one of you. β€οΈ
To my friend Abbee Hughesβ thank you for being there from the literal drywall stage to the very end. Thank you for your help, your support, and for always having a kind word when the anxiety and imposter syndrome voices got a little too loud.
And to my husband Matthew Trnkaβ thank you for the countless hours spent helping me build this dream. From building every single thing my heart desired to somehow creating my very own booking systemβ¦
Yes, we actually have a booking system.
And yes, we called it Bookatini. ππ
Because apparently even booking appointments needs to be pasta-themed.
This next chapter is something Iβve dreamed about for a very long time.
Itβs scary.
Itβs exciting.
Itβs a little bit ridiculous.
So, hereβs to closing one door, opening another, and making a whole lot of dogs pretty along the way.
Spaghetti Poodles is officially ready for its next chapter. ππ©β¨
