Hi, I’m Oscar! I’m a 9-year-old Shih Tzu weighing in at just over 11lbs, and I’m the perfect little companion if you’re looking for a calm, easy-going friend to share your days with.
I’m a sweet, gentle soul who loves nothing more than cuddling on the couch and following my favorite person around the house. I’m in my golden years, so my energy level is pretty low…I spend most of my time napping and enjoying the simple pleasures in life. I’m not demanding at all; I’m just happy to be near you, soaking up all the love and attention you’re willing to give.
I’m fully house-trained and don’t need a crate because I can be trusted both when left alone and overnight. While I’m very quiet when my people are home, I do tend to bark or cry a little when I’m left alone, so I’d love a home where someone is around most of the time to keep me company. Guess this stuff happens when you are abandoned at a shelter.
I get along fine with smaller dogs, but I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. As for kids, I’d probably do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand that I’m an older gentleman and prefer gentle handling. Car rides are no problem for me, and when it comes to toys, I enjoy playing a little game of keep-away with small stuffed toys. I’m not much of a chewer, but I do like the occasional crunchy biscuit, even though soft food is recommended for me.
I do have a Grade II heart murmur, but it doesn’t slow me down from living my best cozy life. If you’re ready for a loving, low-maintenance friend, I’m here waiting to meet you!

An adoption fee of $300. I am neutered, and had a dental, I have also been vaccinated with my age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, been given flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and will come with 30 days of free pet insurance as well as my health certificate.
