Poor Duke, he had to put the bees hat on because he couldn’t stop licking us and it was interrupting our groom with him. He did have a fun time with that hat.

Today we lost Nessa. She lived a long good life. I keep messing up the years 16/19 years old these fine gals are. Lulu lost her sister today :( she went peacefully in her sleep.

My broken heart 💔 Dear Michelle,

We are heartbroken to share that Velveteen has passed away.

When we learned that this very special girl had become severely emaciated after adoption, we were able to get her back and immediately began getting her the medical care she desperately needed. When we asked for help, you stepped up for her, and we were overwhelmed and deeply touched by the outpouring of kindness and generosity for Velveteen.

Sadly, her little body tried, but she could not overcome what had happened to her. On Tuesday afternoon, when Velveteen was no longer wagging her tail or wanting to move, we rushed her to the hospital. Sadly, she passed away late Tuesday evening in Sara’s loving arms.

We are taking Velveteen’s story very seriously and are committed to doing everything within our ability to help prevent a situation like this from happening again.

This isn’t the ending we wanted for her. We wanted her to heal, regain her strength, and have the long, happy life she deserved. But we are so grateful that, because of your generosity, we were able to give her a chance. And we know that Velveteen felt loved and cherished during the final weeks of her life.

It’s what we do but it is hard. I’ve shed many tears while grooming. I fear a sweet girl named Harley has left us. I’m not sure. Her dad brought her in to have eye gunk removed while doing this, she was very lifeless. I haven’t heard back or heard if the Vet had suggested that it was time for Harley to cross over. It’s so hard for us all
