🌻 Introducing: Dee Dee 🌻

We may not know exactly what breed this little girl is, but whatever she is, she is 100% adorable. That sweet puppy face is just begging to be covered in kisses! 💋

Dee Dee is an energetic gal with a playful and affectionate nature. She loves people and never wants to be far from her human. Her endless curiosity means that she likes to be in the midst of any action and she enjoys “helping” her people with anything they might be doing. Even in the thick of play, she has time for a drive-by snuggle and a flurry of kisses for her person before setting back off on her puppy adventures. 🧳🗺️

While in foster, Dee Dee has been lucky enough to have a fellow puppy friend to wrassle and chase to her heart’s content. A tolerant playmate in her furever home who makes allowances for her puppy shenanigans and possesses enough energy to keep up with her love of fun would gain a faithful friend for life! 🐶❤️🐶

With very little experience living in a house, Dee Dee will need extra patience and time as she figures out potty training and crate training. She has been figuring out how to better use her “inside voice” each day but still needs allowances to make mistakes as she navigates her way through puppyhood. Having such sweetness and a loving soul makes her eager to please and so she will always be a Good Girl™️ in our books. 😇

👑 Isabella Pupdate 👑

This gal has fans! In addition to all of us already rooting for Miss Izzy, she has recently gained even more avid supporters. 👏🏻

Tracey from New Leash On Life Training Academy Inc, who works hard in our community to make sure dogs can shine their brightest, has been devoting her time towards helping Izzy stay calm and confident when meeting new people and dogs. Strange situations and unknown people can be quite scary for many dogs (and humans - shout out to all fellow introverts!!) but guiding Izzy through some of her big feelings means she can face the world with a calmer, more self-assured attitude. To ensure that Izzy continues her impressive progress, Tracey has graciously offered her services to Izzy’s future family with one of her 4 week Flex Training packages. Thank you, Tracey! 🥰

We may already know how deserving this beautiful girl is but word of her praiseworthiness seems to have spread! A kind member of the Isabella Fan Club has offered to sponsor her adoption fee in full. Izzy’s furever family is out there somewhere and she has a whole community of support waiting for them to find her. 🐾🧭❤️

Being a girl’s girl, Izzy prefers women but with patience, kindness, and time, dog-loving men can convince her that they, too, are deserving of her kisses and fuzzy snuggles. Izzy’s wholesome love for her senior foster sister shows that she is well-practiced taking cues and following the lead of another dog in the home. Her angelic house manners mean that she is well-suited to many homes and families. We believe Izzy would do best with a confident and more experienced human for walks to make sure she feels that she can maintain her ladylike demeanour in the face of reactive dogs or any particularly shifty-looking Cockapoos.🧘‍♀️

Fundraising Friday!!

Thank you to everyone that purchased tickets yesterday after we posted.... we still have 150 tickets available. As mentioned in yesterdays post this is our main fundraiser for the year. We really need to sell these tickets to have a successful event.

Please join us on Saturday May 3rd for our Comedy Unleashed event. Your ticket includes a delicious catered meal, a silent auction, and a comedy show. The event is at Coalhurst Community Hall and doors open at 5:30, comedy starts at 8:00.

We are very excited to host 2 Canadian Comics this year! This is going to be a great event... see you there!

🤣🐾Comedy Unleashed Update🐾🤣

You may have noticed that we have rebranded our Raise the Woof Comedy fundraiser to Comedy Unleashed. We've done so for a couple of reasons:

1. Raised the Woof is a comedy troupe out of the States. Like so many we are choosing to move to an event that supports Canadians. We used a local promotions company to find us some good ole Canadian Comics! Please see their headshots and bios in the comments.

2. We didn't love the comedy last year, and we know a lot of you didn't as well. It's important to us that everyone enjoys our event and leaves with a bellyache from laughing so hard! Our event is primarily 18+ but we have asked the comedians to put together a PG-13 show for us.

So here we are with a newly branded show, amazing talent, and a TON of items for our silent auction! However ticket sales are poor at this point. Normally we would have 25-50% of our tickets already sold at this point. We are currently sitting at 15% sold 😥😥 Please, Please, Please get your tickets! This is our major fundraiser for the year and we really need the support... we're already on track for a record number of dogs helped (for the 3rd year in a row).

🌸 Introducing: Cayley 🌸

Cayley is a beautiful Chinese Crested whose many recent milestones are worthy of celebration! 🎉

With limited experience around humans, Cayley will require an especially patient home where she can continue to open up and reach her goals at her own pace. Despite still being nervous about physical affection from humans, Cayley’s confidence has greatly benefited from being around other dogs. She has been learning to really enjoy her play sessions with her foster siblings and even had a tail wag for the resident cat. 🐾❤️🐾

While Cayley may take a bit longer than other dogs to connect with her people, there is always hope! As a great lover of food and fuzzy blankets, this deserving girl makes the perfect candidate for some good ol’ bribery. The way to a dog’s heart may not always be through their stomach but treats will never hurt your cause with this pretty lady. After all, she deserves a good bit of spoiling. ✨🎁✨

💎 Introducing: Lynn 💎

Lynn is an 8 year old Shih Tzu mix who, after cherry eye surgery and a fresh, clean new haircut, is ready to impress her future family with her lovely manners and irresistibly likeable personality. ✨

Such a sweet and gentle nature means that Lynn isn’t looking for rowdy play or games of chase but she always remains perfectly polite and respectful towards other dogs. Her true passion is merely being near her human. Lynn’s mission in life is to ensure that her person is never lonely…even in the bathroom. 🛀🐶

This exceedingly genteel little lady truly doesn’t ask for much. She loves her walks to explore the neighbourhood but never needs long before she is ready to head home and contentedly nap the day away. Having already mastered her potty training and leash manners, she doesn’t require the hours of training and patience that many of the youngsters can. Lynn needs little more from her family than merely the love she deserves. If you would be so kind as to bestow upon her some belly rubs and forehead kisses, she would be ever so grateful but would never be so gauche as to demand such favours. Lynn’s love is as unassuming as it is wholesome. ❤️🥺

✨ Introducing: Ernie ✨

Ernie is a 1.5 year old Shih Tzu mix who has been revealing more and more of his loveable personality as he continues to come further out of his shell each day. 🐣

Shy but curious, Ernie can take a moment or two to warm up to humans but seems to get along swimmingly with the other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys chewing on his toys while managing to avoid all things he is not allowed to chew. And despite not being overly food-motivated, this extra good boy still does a little happy dance before dinner just to show his appreciation. 🩰

Still hard at work on his potty training and crate training, Ernie has shown great progress in a short time. When off the clock, Ernie likes to spend time outdoors before retiring inside for a rip-snorin’ good nap. 💤
