We all want to prevent unwanted litters. Hysterectomies and vasectomies offer early, safe sterilization, starting at 8 weeks, while preserving the natural hormones dogs need.

New Peer-reviewed study shows s*x hormones (like estrogen and testosterone) help the spine and discs develop properly. Removing these hormones from dogs too early can affect bone growth and disc strength, making the spine more vulnerable.

Spaying/neutering early (before 12 months) greatly increased the risk of slipped discs in French Bulldogs.

• For males:
o Early-neutered males were almost twice as likely to develop IVDH compared to intact males.
o Neutering after 12 months actually lowered their risk.

• For females:
o The effect was even stronger.
o Spayed females were about 5 times more likely to have IVDH than intact females.
o If spayed before 12 months, they were almost 10 times more likely to develop the problem.

The age you choose to spay or neuter a French Bulldog can have a major impact on their long-term spine health.

I’m a little behind posting this guy consistently because it’s been a super busy year and I’ve helped 30 plus corgis this year. That doesn’t seem like a huge number, especially when several of my friends who run all breed rescues help hundreds of dogs each year, but, it is still making an impact.
This dude was surrendered to me in a group of around 15 dogs.

Let me re introduce you all to Van Gogh, who is 3-4 years old. Neutered, vetted, etc.

He had a severe ear injury that had become necrotic that was caused by an altercation with another dog, as corgis can have a fair amount of same $ex aggression. Subsequently one of my amazing veterinarians had to perform essentially an ear crop on his ear, so he’s got about 1/4 of his ear left and it’s essentially “a teddy bear” crop. He’s a good boy, and he’s one of two left from his group that is looking for a home.
He has a lot of drive so he is not suitable for a home with small children. He is not suitable for a home with other male dogs.

I’m a bad photographer, but I try.
Maybe I’ll take him for Christmas photos 😂😂🙃

Juliet puppies received their first vaccines and vet check ✅ 💉
We do still have some available puppies, which ones will be determined in the coming weeks

I have a couple of mini dachshunds males looking for new postal codes, or to compliment your Christmas decor. They have two sets of vaccines, and have been raised in the house with other dogs and a toddler who loves them. They’re 13 ish weeks old, and are potty box trained. Parents are Canadian CH Bob (CH Calawynn The Raven) who is also AKC pointed and American CH Criscross Dead Ringer MS. These will be in size miniatures, not 16 lb miniatures.
Our dachshunds (both mini & standard) have great temperaments due to selective breeding, like the corgis.

I’m a little slow advertising them - I breed miniature dachshunds like once a year, maybe twice (my last litter before this was April 2024)… so if you want a mini from us… it’s now, or maybe mid 2026 😂😂

I did a mini photo shoot with some of Patsys kids today - hoping to do Juliet’s tomorrow
Patsy has 4 girls and 4 boys, two tailed boys and two docked boys. I guess I accidentally mis gendered one of the little dudes in all the chaos. Everyone is doing well at this point - 5 weeks old.

Here’s a photo of one of Patsys girls - she will lighten up with age ♥️
