Charlie, Odin, Henry, and Beowulf
The original Tuesday crew was back together today, and they wasted absolutely no time getting the fun started! The moment they saw each other, tails were wagging, paws were moving, and everyone was ready for an adventure. It was one of those hikes where the excitement started right from the parking lot and never really slowed down.
These four headed out into the wilderness full of energy, spending the morning playing, running, chasing, and generally having an absolute hoot together. Watching old friends reunite is always special, and this group never disappoints.
A fun fact about Charlie: he is absolutely terrified of bridges. Not just big bridges. Not just little bridges. All bridges. Tiny footbridges? Suspicious. Large vehicle bridges? Equally suspicious. Charlie, despite being a very large German Shepherd, would sometimes prefer that I carry him across them. By "prefer," I mean he fully commits to a damsel-in-distress routine and attempts to launch himself into my arms. Unfortunately for Sir Charlie, this is a request that is firmly denied because my poor back simply cannot accommodate a full-grown German Shepherd who has suddenly decided he is lap-dog sized.
So today's gold star goes to Mr. Charlie for bravely making it across the bridge all on his own. An extra gold star goes to Beowulf, who helped his buddy through the ordeal. The two crossed together, and it was honestly pretty sweet to watch.
True to form, Beowulf spent much of the hike leading the way, scouting ahead and ensuring the trail was safe for the rest of the crew. I'm happy to report his extensive investigation found that the road was, in fact, safe.
Odin and Charlie spent part of the hike playing a spirited game of tag, while Henry entertained everyone with his signature zoomy zoomies. For Henry, this involves sprinting back and forth as fast as possible, seemingly just to demonstrate how fast he can run. It never fails to make me smile.
A fantastic, peaceful Tuesday filled with good friends, happy dogs, and plenty of laughs.
