Charlie, Odin, Henry, and Beowulf
The original Tuesday crew was back together today, and they wasted absolutely no time getting the fun started! The moment they saw each other, tails were wagging, paws were moving, and everyone was ready for an adventure. It was one of those hikes where the excitement started right from the parking lot and never really slowed down.
These four headed out into the wilderness full of energy, spending the morning playing, running, chasing, and generally having an absolute hoot together. Watching old friends reunite is always special, and this group never disappoints.
A fun fact about Charlie: he is absolutely terrified of bridges. Not just big bridges. Not just little bridges. All bridges. Tiny footbridges? Suspicious. Large vehicle bridges? Equally suspicious. Charlie, despite being a very large German Shepherd, would sometimes prefer that I carry him across them. By "prefer," I mean he fully commits to a damsel-in-distress routine and attempts to launch himself into my arms. Unfortunately for Sir Charlie, this is a request that is firmly denied because my poor back simply cannot accommodate a full-grown German Shepherd who has suddenly decided he is lap-dog sized.
So today's gold star goes to Mr. Charlie for bravely making it across the bridge all on his own. An extra gold star goes to Beowulf, who helped his buddy through the ordeal. The two crossed together, and it was honestly pretty sweet to watch.
True to form, Beowulf spent much of the hike leading the way, scouting ahead and ensuring the trail was safe for the rest of the crew. I'm happy to report his extensive investigation found that the road was, in fact, safe.
Odin and Charlie spent part of the hike playing a spirited game of tag, while Henry entertained everyone with his signature zoomy zoomies. For Henry, this involves sprinting back and forth as fast as possible, seemingly just to demonstrate how fast he can run. It never fails to make me smile.
A fantastic, peaceful Tuesday filled with good friends, happy dogs, and plenty of laughs.

Third hike of the day was with Rosie, Whisper, and Odin.
These three have quickly become one of my favorite groups to hike with. All of my dogs are favorites in their own way, but this trio is especially entertaining. They always seem to find a way to make me laugh.
Today, I took them to the water because Miss Rosie absolutely adores swimming, and Odin is just as enthusiastic. Whisper isn't quite as eager about getting wet, but I discovered that she will happily swim when it means following me. That kind of loyalty is hard to miss.
The rivers are already starting to get surprisingly shallow, much more so than they were at this time last year. Even so, we managed to find some fantastic swimming holes. At one point, the water was deep enough that I had to hold all of our hiking bags above my head to make it across. You can bet that location has been stored away in the mental bank vault as a great future swimming spot for the dogs.
I will admit, the water was cold. Even on a warm day, it felt pretty chilly by the time it reached my belly button. The dogs, however, couldn't have cared less.
There was endless fetching, countless sticks, plenty of rock chasing, lots of games of tag, happy barking, and all-around excitement. They made the most of every second.
By the time we got home, all three dogs were completely tuckered out, and honestly, I think that's the sign of a day well spent. I'd say this was the perfect way to wrap up a Monday.

Second hike of the day was with Zayco, Sitka, Chico, Beowulf, and Ranger.
This crew was pumped to hit the trail today. Ranger is back after a little vacation, and he was extra excited to see all his friends and get back out on an adventure. It was so sweet to have him back. I got lots of love from him and definitely felt missed, which made me feel pretty special.
Sitka was especially excited to have Mr. Ranger back, and the two of them spent plenty of time playing together. It was quite adorable to watch.
Zayco was feeling a little slower today, and that's perfectly okay. The whole group was incredibly kind and happy to take a slower pace, which made our hike a bit longer than usual. Sometimes that's just how the day unfolds, and there's nothing wrong with that. We slowed down, enjoyed the trail, and made the most of our time together.
There was plenty of stick-fetching along the way. Chico was racing around being his usual energetic self, while Beowulf was having an absolute blast chasing sticks too.
There isn't a whole lot of excitement to report from today's adventure, and honestly, that's not a bad thing. It was just a really solid Monday hike filled with good dogs, good company, and plenty of happy moments. Sometimes the best days are the ones that are uneventful, but just eventful enough to remind you how lucky you are to spend your days with such an amazing group.

First hike of the day was with Miss Pinta.
Miss Pinta and I started our Monday on the perfect note. We headed out to a trail we haven't explored together in a little while, and she was absolutely loving every minute of it. She had a little extra pep in her step this morning, which always seems to happen after a good weekend of rest.
Honestly, it sets the tone for my whole day in the best way. She's happy, eager, ready for adventure, and I'm always happy to tag along.
I also discovered something today: Miss Pinta has figured out that sitting pretty earns her treats. Because of that, there was a lot of posing on today's hike, even when I didn't have the camera out. It was pretty funny to watch and a great reminder of just how smart and quick she is.
Thank you, Miss Pinta, for always making my mornings more enjoyable and for constantly giving me something new to learn about you. Here's to many more adventures together.

Miss Dottie
Dottie and I hit up one of her favorite spots today, and she taught me something new.
Fun fact: did you know Cane Corsos can blow bubbles? I certainly didn't until I met Dottie. This girl can blow bubbles like it's an Olympic sport. Bubbles in her mouth, bubbles in the water, bubbles on her face, bubbles everywhere. It was hilarious to watch and definitely one of my favorite discoveries of the day.
It was such a good afternoon with Miss Dottie. We soaked up the sunshine, spent plenty of time in the water, and just enjoyed being out together. We also played a lot of fetch, but the real surprise was learning that Dottie is a huge fan of tug-of-war.
Our weapon of choice? Big sticks.
Apparently, wrestling over giant sticks is a game I didn't know I needed in my life. Dottie took her role very seriously, and I quickly learned just how strong she is. She definitely made me work for it and helped me get my workout in for the day. What impressed me even more, though, was how incredibly gentle she was while playing. Despite all that strength, she was so careful, respectful, and sweet. It was really beautiful to see that balance of power and gentleness in such an amazing dog.
Thank you, Miss Dottie, for always bringing a little extra adventure, teaching me new things, and keeping me laughing. From bubble-blowing lessons to stick tug-of-war championships, you always know how to make the day memorable.
What a wonderful way to finish off the day.

Cowboy, Bauer & Juno
Not going to do a long write-up today. It's been a long day, a busy day, and a bit of a week.
These three had an absolute blast together. Juno was her usual crazy self, and honestly, I'm pretty grateful for it because she did an excellent job of tiring out Bauer and Cowboy. That's exactly what every pup parent hopes for after a good hike. Thanks, Juno. I may have to hire you full-time.
Thank you, Cowboy and Bauer, for joining me on today's adventure. It was an absolutely stunning day. It felt really good to get out there, slow down, do a little grounding, and just be in nature with the dogs. Sometimes it's nice to detach from the busyness of life for a while and simply be present, and these hounds are always a great reminder of that.
Cowboy, you're doing so wonderfully as a puppy. Your sit-stay is on point, your recall is coming along beautifully, and you're working hard on keeping all four paws on the ground. You're making great progress.
Bauer, as always, it's a pleasure to spend time with such a happy, easygoing dog. You bring such great energy to every adventure.
What a wonderful way to wrap up a Friday. Thanks, everybody, and we'll see you Monday.

Unfortunately all hikes for today are canceled due to a serious accident right outside my home. The road is completely closed and no traffic is being allowed through at this time.
They’re expecting the closure to last for quite a while, but if the road opens later today and I’m able to get through, I’ll let you know right away.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding. I’ll touch base later if anything changes.
