Level 4 of my spinning certificate meant diving into luxury fibres from alpaca, yak, cashmere and even silk (or as my daughter calls it… “worm spit” 🐛)!

I spent most of January learning to control this beautifully slippery fibre, spinning fine singles and then plying multiple strands together to create a strong enough structure to actually crochet or knit with. Silk has no crimp, no bounce compared to sheep’s wool so this was a real learning curve!

My final project ended up to be custom pair of crochet hoop earrings made from 100% bombyx silk cabled yarn. Can’t wait to wear these out in the big city with my girls in a couple months💫

While I love black as much as my hubby, I’m so thankful I decided to knit this sweater pattern in a beautiful forest green to showcase the fabric construction effectively! This was the first knit sweater I have ever made my lovely hubby and it was such a joy to make! The pattern was clear and the knit was enjoyable! I loved how the sweater has enough ease for my husband to not feel too confined in the knit!

Hey friends!

Thanks for sticking by us and our small business as we navigate life after the death of my mom and grandma earlier this year.

Things are feeling easier and lighter but some days are sad and that’s when I just make a lot more art!

I am starting to put together plans for some workshops in the Fall/Winter.
