The TNRD has issued an Evacuation Alert for properties along Fadear Creek due to the potential imminent failure of the Fadear Lake dam.

The Province of BC has advised the TNRD that an unauthorized dam structure on Fadear Lake is at risk of imminent failure, which could result in an uncontrolled release of water from the lake into Fadear Creek.

This Evacuation Alert is in place for approximately 14 addressed properties along Fadear Creek, in Electoral Area "O" (Lower North Thompson).

Please note that the area of concern is limited to the area under Evacuation Alert only, and this alert is being issued out of an abundance of caution. The TNRD is working with the Province and experts to mitigate this issue in the coming days.
