Today we’re celebrating the curious, cuddly, sassy, silly, and sometimes slightly judgmental companions who make our lives better just by being in them. 😻

We had some seriously adorable feline visitors at Alcona Animal Hospital this week, and what better way to celebrate than by showing off a few of their sweet faces! 🐾

From the purrs and head bumps to the zoomies and 3 a.m. adventures, every cat has a personality all their own—and we love them for it. 💙

🐾 August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month! 🐾

Finding a tick on your dog can be stressful, but acting quickly is important. While not every tick carries disease, some can transmit illnesses such as Lyme disease.

If you find a tick on your pet, give us a call — we’re happy to help! Our clinic offers complimentary tick removals and can guide you on the next steps after exposure 💙

We also recommend a blood test approximately 4 weeks after a tick bite to screen for tick-borne diseases, even if your pet seems completely normal.

Signs to watch for after a tick bite may include:
• Lethargy
• Fever
• Limping or stiffness
• Loss of appetite
• Swollen lymph nodes
