At Northern Hart we want to make your equine partnership an enjoyable experience. We strive to bring out the best in every horse through good classical training with your personal goals in mind – be it sheer pleasure riding or preparing for the show season. Our motto at Northern Hart is that the horse comes first and must enjoy his/her work. Northern Hart specializes in teaching beginner/ intermed

iate lessons, training the hunter-jumper horse and rider and breaking horses. Safety for both horse and rider is our primary concern in order to keep everyone involved safe as we follow in accordance with Alberta Equestrian Federation and Equine Canada standards. We offer custom training programs for both you and your horse. With access to indoor/ outdoor arenas and trails there is ample room to learn, train and ride. As well, our facility offers both indoor and outdoor board to keep you and your equine partner happy.

A thoroughbred racehorse has gone viral after mimicking a classic Disney Pixar movie moment to secure a dramatic, last second victory.

The incredible photo finish showed the animal sticking its tongue out at the exact millisecond it crossed the finish line to win the race.

The remarkable event took place during a competitive race at Epsom Downs. Running as a total underdog at 18-1 odds, the horse, named Oh This Is Us, spent the majority of the event trapped behind a wall of other competitors with seemingly nowhere to go. In the final furlong, jockey Tom Marquand finally spotted a narrow gap and surged forward to challenge the 2-1 favourite, Century Dream.

As the two frontrunners hit the line dead level, officials turned to the photo finish cameras to determine the winner. The resulting image left racing fans stunned, revealing that Oh This Is Us had extended his tongue to gain a literal nose victory over his rival.

Racing enthusiasts quickly flooded social media with side by side comparisons to Lightning McQueen's famous finish in the animated movie Cars.

So happy to see horses in the North again! This is a pop up summer riding lesson program for Yellowknife. Hopefully one day they will have horses full time again. I know this would make dr.pisz so happy. (I’m not crying ur crying) 🥰
