Why I won’t do a hair cut without a bath, or do an express service.
We’re in 2026 and everyone wants things done instantly. I get it. I don’t want to wait for anything either, but patience is key and anything we wait for is usually better than the quick instant result.
Imagine your hair is super greasy, has a couple big knots in it, and maybe a couple sticks, I don’t know what you like to do for fun. Now you give your self a hair cut. You didn’t brush your hair or anything the knots and sticks were all in there but you decided you needed it cut right that second. The next day you pick out the sticks, brush out the knots as best you can then wash, condition and blow dry your hair. You look in the mirror and it’s completely jagged right? You cut it while it wasn’t laying properly at all. This is a huge reason why a bath and blow out is vital to giving your dog a hair cut as well.
Not only that but my tools stuuggggllleee to get through a dirty coat,(which also causes an uneven cut) it’s dulls my blades and over heats my clipper. When the coat is clean and prepped my tools can glide effortlessly though the fur giving it a nice finish.
Coat prep is also important as it’s when I notice changes in your dogs skin, if they have any new lumps or bumps, and if they have any other concerning friends in their coats. (fleas or ticks) not to mention who really wants me to give their dog a terrible hair cut and then send them home stinky?! No one. So that’s why a bath is so important to the process. I won’t skip it so you can save money.. and no I won’t let you bath them at home, it needs to be done properly and throughly in shop. if anything skipping a bath will cost you more money because you’ll need to replace my blades.
Trust the process 🐾🫧🛁
