Shauntra and I (Ellice) are at the Alliston Humane Society today grooming some cats and this is Hank. Unfortunately Hank is VERY tightly matted, fortunately Shauntra is here 🥳❤️ we’re going to get him all free of matting and feeling fresh with a nice bath and pedicure!

Ever wonder if dogs get hair in their eyes during grooming? Of course they do! If we’re cutting hair around the eyes and face, hair is almost definitely going to get into the eye at some point.

As some of you know I have two Boston terrier puppies now, and we had a Boston terrier in past who had a plethora of eye issues over the years which led to me including eye lubricating in my grooming routine. WHAT A GAME CHANGER! I can’t believe I never realized how much hair I was leaving behind in dogs eyes 🫣 sending them home like that 😳

And this has allowed me to help support the pets I see better as well, another way I can help ensure they’re as comfortable as possible. Some breeds with larger “bug” eyes are often more prone to eye issues and can benefit from some extra attention so not to brag but I have two different kinds of eye l**e so we can double l**e for extra hydration and protection 👊😜

Handsome Angus is a large, dapper and mature gentleman 😌 as always we try and make every grooming visit as comfortable as possible and grooming Angus in the kennel while he rests comfortably on a bed? Heck yeah, that’s perfect. Except he doesn’t want it… oh well 🤷‍♀️ I’ll keep trying 😛

Finlay is the luckiest boy… his parents have been through so much with him and they just love him so much ❤️

I’m not sure if his parents, or the vets even really know what’s “up” with Finlay but the poor guy has had many bouts of being unwell and has had so much testing done to investigate and try to help him 🥹

He’s been on steroids for a long time to help him feel well and they’re hard on the system. I see evidence of this when I’m grooming him as there is hair loss, thinned skin, shedding/scaly skin, build up, sebum irregularities like seborrhoea. Like I said his tail was completely bald when I last saw him 😳

So while this may look intense, I don’t see this as a bad thing. Finlay is doing really well his parents tell me, he’s gained weight which for him is great to see as he was so thin before.

His skin is changing, maybe a purging of sorts… I don’t know the medical side beyond what’s relevant though I know I’ll be here helping to support as best as can and keeping an eye on any changes 👀💜

Hi everyone, I recently met someone who volunteers with The Bruno Project Canada , they are a non profit organization that finds homes for injured and stray dogs in Ontario and St Lucia.
For anyone who is interested we have an assortment of dog coats,t-shirts,leashes,collars, etc. all for a minimum cash donation of between $5 and $15 dollars depending on the item.
All money will go to The Bruno Project

Such a great day today at our local grooming competition! We had so much fun meeting new friends and groomers, seeing everyone compete and all their beautifully groomed dogs, and of course chatting about our favourite products 🥰🤩 thank you for inviting us and congratulations to everyone who competed!
