I have been seeing quite a few posts lately of people looking for trainers and I’d just like to put some thoughts out there.

Just because a trainers program has worked for many other people does not mean it will work for you. Take the time to reach out to multiple trainers and discuss their program, credentials(did they work under someone/ how long/who), your goals and your horses current honest education level. Read their contract thoroughly to ensure there isn’t any fine print that you missed and that you agree with what’s outlined.

Go and meet the trainer if you can. View the facility and see the horses(bonus if you can watch the trainer ride).

Up coming trainers can be worth the risk as their programs are typically smaller. However, make sure they have the education to back up their claims.

Talk to previous clients of the trainer and current clients. Ask what they liked about the program, what they would have changed about the experience and if they feel they got what they wanted.

I’m sure there’s more things I’m missing, but truly my biggest recommendation is to do your research!Make sure that the program is not only the best option for you, but for your horse as well!

I’d like to send out a huge thank you to each and everyone of my clients that have supported me this year! As I go on maternity leave for a few months I have found myself looking back on the progress of the business in the past year.

With that being said there will be some updates to my training policies for the year of 2027:

As of now I will not be accepting training/ consignment horses until February 1st, there are currently horses booked in for February so remaining spots are limited!
I will no longer be accepting horses for 30 days, horses to be started will now be required to complete 90 days in my program at a minimum. Horses that are booked for a restart will be required to complete a minimum of 60 days provided you can show proof of a previous education(via video or trainers contact), otherwise they will be required to complete 90 days.
Training prices will be increased to $1,200/ month for indoor training board and $1,000/month for outdoor training board. There will also now be a NON-REFUNDABLE $200 deposit to book which will be taken off of the amount due for the first month of training.
Contract MUST be signed when deposit is sent.
One lesson a week has been included in training price any additional lessons will be $60/lesson. Haul in lessons are accepted.
If you cancel a scheduled lesson with under 12 hours notice a $20 cancelation fee will be added.
Invoices will be sent out one week before payment is due, failure to pay balance in full will result in suspension of training and possible termination of contract.

I am accepting bookings for February, any horses that book that I cannot accommodate due to space constraints will be waitlisted till the next available space opens. This is a first come first serve situation and the wait list will be run as such. Keep in mind your deposit is due at the time of booking and will ensure your spot in the program/waitlist.

It’s so cool to see the transformation in these horses. It blows my mind just how much a good program can do for a horse! 45 days on him so far and he’s really coming together!

Casually listing squid

She’s almost a year old will be in early august, leads, ties, trailers, good for farrier and up to date on vaccinations

Currently lives with a gelding and a retired broodmare, life circumstances have changed and although I can and do plan to keep her if she doesn’t sell I figured it would be worth offering

2 weeks ago yhis gelding came to me to be restarted and although he isn’t super confident under saddle he is so willing to try!

I’ve got a 21 year old thoroughbred mare that’s looking for someone to hangout with. She was NOT restarted after the track therefore she WILL NOT be available for riding. She’s just looking for someone who would be willing to take her on walks or do ground work with her, brush her and honestly just spoil her! She’s incredibly sweet ive just found with my busy schedule she’s not getting as much attention as I’d like! She’s located at a small private farm between Hanover and Durham and must stay on property. This is a part board/ lease situation. You’re welcome to spend as much or as little time with her as you please the fee is still the same. Pm for more info
