Sunny is home!

Our sweetest Mama has found her people and is already settling in. She’s going to be missed, but she deserves this happy ending so much.

Thank you to everyone who helped Sunny on her journey to her forever home. A special thank you to Elaine for stepping up as always and ensuring her foster babies get nothing but the best.

I know Sunny is incredibly grateful for this second chance.

Today, our very first Salty is getting her wings.💔

Our hearts are so broken for her family. As you can tell from her instagram page Poppy, she was their everything. We had to make sure she got the Salty send off she deserves.

Poppy was our first rescue and will always hold a special place in our hearts. She was found roaming the Mount Hope area heavily pregnant on a cold November day, where she later ended up at Hamilton Animal Services. After seeing her intake photo, we asked if she needed rescue placement, at the time not knowing she had just had nine little babies at the shelter. We quickly agreed all would be coming home with us as our first Salties.

Poppy was very shut down when we got her. She was terrified of the leash and undersocialized. Her teeth were worn, and you could see every one of her ribs. We suspect she previously had a life no dog should have, her puppies a direct result of ignorant backyard breeders.

But on that chilly Remembrance Day, Poppy’s life changed for the better forever. She became a temporary part of the pack, and we even considered keeping the sweet girl.

As soon as we received the adoption application from her humans, we knew that they could give her everything and more a dog like Poppy could ask for. It was meant to be, as it always is.

Pop hit the jackpot, and I know she woke up thinking she was dreaming every day these past almost seven years with her family. We are so grateful for them giving her the life she deserved from the start.

We are sending her humans so much love. It is incredibly unfair that we only get such a short amount of time with our fur babies.

Say hi to all the special angels across the rainbow bridge for us, Pop. What a privilege it has been to get to see you get your happy ending.

Soleil is home!

The little baby (now named Clementine) is settling in and seems to know she’s found her forever family.

It’s always bittersweet to have animals born in rescue. It’s hard to see yet another in need coming into the world, but the good part? They have never known a single day without love.

Soleil has been so loved since day one, and we are so happy she gets the opportunity to have only the best for the rest of her life.

A giant thank you, as always, to foster mom Elaine and to all of those who have helped in any way to make sure Mama Sunny and her baby Suns got everything they needed while waiting for forever.

The news we’ve all been waiting for!

Twix and Buttons are officially adopted!

I can’t express how much of a relief it is to see these two finally settled into their forever home.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that Twix and Buttons (also known as Winnie and Winston) have been on a rollercoaster of a rescue journey.

We rescued Twix in May 2022 from Hamilton Animal Services after she was found dumped on a trail right after Easter. Twix gave birth to three little buns while in the shelter. We agreed to take all four, and that’s where their story began. Little did we know it would take over four years to get these two into the home they deserved from the start.

It originally took a long time to find them a home. As always, we made it clear that if they ever needed to be rehomed, the rescue would take them back. The heartbreak I felt when their pictures popped up almost two years later at a shelter in London. The previous adopter rehomed them to a “loving family” just before Easter, and that family dumped them outside the shelter in a box soon after.

Upon heading to their new home, Buttons has been a bit of a stinker and seems to have broken his bond with his mama, but their adopter is committed to making it work. She has been doing everything possible to help them rebond. Right now, they are separated by an xpen unless they have supervised time together. Whether they get back to being together 24/7 or not, they have a forever home where they are so loved.

My heart hurts for everything they’ve been through, but the silver lining is that they got to experience so much love from so many incredible fosters along the way!

To Emily and family, Jordan, Marjorie and Katie, Kenzie, and their OG foster Kate, thank you isn’t enough!

I’m forever grateful to the wonderful humans who helped make this happen for these two special buns. Thank you all for reminding me that although the world may be full of some awful people when it comes to animals, it’s also full of people committed to making their lives better, no questions asked.

Sunny is still waiting to find her family!☀️

Soleil found the best home, and we are so excited for her, but now it’s mama’s turn.

Sunny came to us through our local shelter. She was undersocialized and very scared. We couldn’t handle her at first, but she quickly opened up and has become the most loving, silly girl. She’s incredibly sweet and has the funniest personality.

Sunny’s only about a year old. Some things are new to her, and she’s initially been a bit of a scaredy cat starting out at foster mom Elaine’s, too. At first, she was a little hissy with some of the furry friends in the home. She has slowly become more brave and is beginning to accept having them around! She still likes to be the boss, but we think with a little time and understanding, she could work in a home with other respectful animals.

All she needs is someone willing to take things slow, and she promises to be your dream kitty.

Sunny is a smaller cat and has, understandably, been indulging a little extra while in mom mode. She will need an adopter that’s able to make sure she stays at a healthy weight!

It is mandatory for all of our cats to be indoor. Extra caution around doors and windows/screens is important.

Sunny will be in for her spay shortly after Soleil heads to her forever. She will come fully vaccinated, microchipped, will have had multiple dewormings, and treatment for fleas/ticks. She has also had a negative FIV/FeLV SNAP test.

Her adoption fee is $225.

We raised just over the goal needed to keep Salty going, and we are beyond grateful!
