This is the goal. ππ«
Not a dog that needs constant commands. Not a dog that reacts to every sound, person, dog, squirrel, bicycle, or distraction.
A dog that can simply exist in the world.
Today Banner joined us at a busy baseball game. Kids running, parents cheering, people coming and going, balls flying, noise everywhere... and he chose to do this instead.
Sleep.π΄
True confidence isn't found in flashy obedience. It's found in a dog that feels no need to engage with every stimulus around them.
When we teach neutrality, we give our dogs freedom. Freedom to relax. Freedom to settle. Freedom to accompany us anywhere without stress, anxiety, or overexcitement.
The goal isn't to have a dog that can perform in every environment. The goal is to have a dog that can be calm in every environment.
That's the kind of dog that gets invited everywhere ππΎπ
