IF YOUโRE NOT WILLING TO DO IT, DONโT COMPLAINโฆ
There, I said it.
A few days ago, I was at an indoor arena. The ground was great, the temp was perfect, and I was just thankful to get out of the snow.
Then came along a young ladyโฆ she began complaining about the ground and that management should โreally learn how to run a tractor.โ
Iโm sorry, WHAT??
Do you show up to your in-lawโs house for Christmas and complain about the cookingโฆ on a supper you didnโt make?
Do you stay at a friendโs house and complain because the pillow just wasnโt right and you really didnโt sleep all that well?
Do you get invited to a wedding, and complain to the bride when the DJ plays a song you donโt like?
I bet not.
But I see it all the time in the horse world.
โThe ground sucked.โ
โThe prizes werenโt good enough.โ
โThat horse is too expensive.โ
โThat judge was so unfair!โ
We need to get a grip, guys.
If someone is organizing an event, or if someone has an indoor arena that you get to haul to and use for a very low cost, or maybe if someone is creating a great club out of their own pocket; quit complaining.
Unless youโre willing to do it, stop complaining.
You donโt like it? Step up. Help out. Make a difference. Or go elsewhere, if youโre not willing to do that.
Until then, just be thankful you get the opportunity. Itโs a lot of work - be thankful someone did it. Most of all, be thankful we get to ride these animals. We live a life most people DREAM OF!
Thatโs pretty darn cool.
Remember, while you are making a complaint, someone is sitting on the sidelines wishing they were in your shoes.
Letโs lift each other up, rather than tear each other down.
