Ripp

Ripp Hi my name is Ripp and I’m a search and rescue avalanche dog in-training in Lake Tahoe, CA!

Rippy boy oh how the time has flown by! I remember when you were just a tiny 6 pound puppy learning how to walk in between my skis and now watching you RUN between them like the pro you are!

I love watching you grow up!

One of the things Ripp loves most is to play FETCH!

Even though this can be a serious job we try to keep it as fun as possible for these working dogs. His favorite toys is this retrieve you and his frisbee. He gets to play with this retrieve toy at work and his frisbee on his off days.

More film adventures from an avalanche search and rescue course we went to in Canada

Going back through these film shots, it’s wild to see what consistency, patience, and hard work can build not just in the dogs, but in the people around you too. Grateful for this crew and all the support along the way 🤍

Ever wonder what happens before the mountain opens? 👀

Come see how ski patrollers kick off the day ❤️

Depending on where we’re assigned, the morning commute might be a chairlift ride or, like today, a snowmobile ride. Once we arrive, it’s time: unload the toboggan, check medical gear, brew some much-needed coffee, assess snow and terrain conditions, and set up signage to keep everyone safe.

💡 Fun fact: Ski patrol is usually on the mountain hours before the first chair spins, checking hazards, marking obstacles, and making sure routes are ready to go.

Ripp lives for these early rides whether it’s the lift or the sled. 🐾 We start desensitization training early with our pups, so experiences like this just become part of their everyday routine.

I hope you enjoyed this small glimpse into our morning on patrol with Ripp. So fun to get the POV of Ripp thank to
