Second session down and only TWO more to go! 🧺🐾

What a lovely evening at our Picnic in the Park session!

This week was all about practicing calmness in a more distracting environment. These teams worked on settling around other dogs, people, food, and everyday distractions while enjoying a relaxed picnic together.

The dogs did an amazing job holding their settles, staying focused on their handlers, and resisting the temptation of all the snacks being served around them! 🍪🐶

Every session brings us one step closer to our final challenge: Patio Pup Night at !

It is so great to see so many dogs and handlers working to set a gold standard on how dogs and people interact with the public!

Bandit loves his Monday private adventures! 🐾

One of my favourite things to do with high energy dogs is teach them how to be successful in everyday places.

Today, Bandit joined me at zoo foods today where we worked on:
• Loose leash walking
• Ignoring distractions
• Impulse control
• Settling in a busy environment

To have a successful outing in public, it starts long before you ever walk through the door. A dog needs the skills to stay engaged with their handler, work through distractions, and make good choices when exciting things are happening around them.

Anyone can exercise a high energy dog. Teaching them how to stay calm, focused, and navigate the world confidently is where the real work happens.

Bandit absolutely crushed it today! 💙🐾

What a great weekend!

Bohi and I attended our second herding clinic and had a blast! We may be tired, dirty, and sunburnt, but it was totally worth it.

It was such an amazing experience to watch these highly skilled dogs doing exactly what they were bred to do. Seeing their natural instincts come to life and watching the communication between dog and handler was incredible. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and enjoyed spending the weekend with some great people and their dogs.

Soft boy Bohi may not be the most driven dog when it comes to sheep, but it was really neat to watch his confidence grow each time he stepped into the ring. With each turn, you could see a little bit more instinct start to come out and a little more understanding of the job.

One of the things I love most about working with dogs is that there is always something new to learn. No matter how many years you’ve spent training, there is always a new sport to try, a new skill to develop, or a different perspective to gain. Experiences like this remind me just how much there is to learn in the dog world, and that’s one of the reasons I love being a dog trainer.

What a great first Patio Pups session! ☀️🐾

These incredible dogs and handlers put their skills to work as we focused on loose leash walking, passing other dogs calmly, and staying relaxed in a public setting.

Watching these teams work together and build confidence in real world environments was so rewarding!

✅ Loose leash walking
✅ Calm dog to dog passing
✅ Public manners

Walking skills are officially checked off the list! Next up: Picnic in the Park 🧺🐕

I can’t wait to see these teams continue to grow and put their training into practi

☀️ SUMMER SCHEDULE UPDATE ☀️

Starting June 15th, our summer schedule will be in effect! To help beat the heat, walks will take place earlier in the day and may be modified based on weather conditions.

Your dog’s safety is always my top priority. Throughout the summer, we use a temperature controlled vehicle, provide plenty of water, seek out shaded trails, and take advantage of creeks and water play opportunities whenever possible.

Here’s to a safe, fun filled summer of adventures! 🧡💙
