🐾 Some days I catch myself smiling because this is actually my job!

I get to spend my days exploring with some of the best dogs in town. I know every personality, every quirk, every special need, and every goofy habit. These dogs mean the world to me, and I am so thankful I get to be their best friend and provider of fun, structure, and fulfillment each week.

Every adventure is about more than just exercise. We explore new places, practice skills, build confidence, and experience new things together. Watching these dogs grow, develop friendships, and gain confidence week after week is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

A Full Circle Moment 💙🧡

13 years ago, I fell in love with a little Border Collie named Bailey.

She opened the door to a world I never knew existed. Together we’ve been on quite the journey. Bailey has been a pet store greeter, kennel assistant, doggy daycare dog helper, behaviour facility test dog, group class demonstrator, trainer’s assistant, demo dog and my constant sidekick through every stage of my career.

She is the reason I fell in love with dog training.

She gave me the confidence to take a leap of faith and start Wag’n It 4.5 years ago, and she has been beside me every step of the way.

Today, as our new van gets its Wag’n It colours, I can’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come. What started with one special dog has grown into a business that allows me to spend every day helping dogs and their people.

From a young trainer with a dream to seeing Bailey’s silhouette proudly displayed on the side of our van, this feels like a true full circle moment.

Thank you, Bailey, for changing my life and helping create the business we know and love today. 💙🐾🧡

Nothing beats making these dogs feel happy, safe and fulfilled by the end of their adventures!

🐾 Living With a Herding Breed? 🐾

Herding breeds were bred to work all day, make decisions, and stay engaged with their handler. While physical exercise is important, many owners are surprised to learn that endless walks and games of fetch often aren’t enough.

To help fulfill your herding breed, focus on:

• Training sessions that challenge their brain
• Scent work and tracking games
• Puzzle toys and food enrichment
• Learning new tricks and skills
• Structured hikes and adventures
• Opportunities to use their natural instincts in appropriate ways
• Time to rest and learn how to settle

Remember: A fulfilled dog isn’t necessarily a tired dog. A fulfilled dog is one whose physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met.

Whether you have a Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Cattle Dog, Sheltie, or another working breed, giving them a job to do can make a world of difference.
