I CAN-TER "I Can" Therapeutic Equestrian Riding Association of Niagara, Inc. or better known as I CAN-T.E.R. was founded in January, 1993. is in existence today.

We are a registered charity whose mission is to create a barrier free setting where individuals can experience the farm for Therapy & Rehabilitation, Education & Training, and Recreation & Leisure. It is a non-profit, charitable organization located at 1234 House Road, Ridgeway, Ontario. It was envisioned that the entire farm would provide an atmosphere where those with special needs could flouris

h.The wonders of the woods, the creek, the marsh, the gardens would all become part of a very hands-on experience for all who visit. Many “special moments” have taken place over the years which have reinforced our vision. Farm animals, particularly horses, have become “special friends” to many children. It is because of the commitment, dedication and blessings of many within Niagara, that I CAN-T.E.R. It is our hope that the vision will not only remain before our eyes, but close to our hearts!

This almost never happens! 🐴 Two spots have just opened in our current Horse Groom Apprenticeship course, as two candidates had to withdraw. That means two rare openings are now up for grabs. Start date SEPTEMBER 14!

If you have ever dreamed of working with horses, this is your chance. You will spend your days learning hands-on, building real skills, and having so much fun with our herd along the way. It is a fully funded, one-of-a-kind opportunity, and spots like these do not come around often.

🐎 Ready to turn your passion for horses into real-world skills?

I-CAN-T.E.R.'s Horse Groom Apprenticeship Program is returning for a new intake, and we're looking for individuals who are eager to learn, gain hands-on experience, and explore opportunities in the equine industry.

You won't just be watching—you'll be doing.

✨ Learn how to:
• Groom, tack, and handle horses safely
• Understand horse behaviour and psychology
• Support horse health, nutrition, and hoof care
• Assist with stable management and daily operations
• Recognize lameness and provide basic first aid
• Build practical skills used by equine professionals every day

💥 This is a FREE training opportunity funded through Employment Ontario and designed to help participants gain valuable experience and prepare for employment in the equine sector.

Is your child joining us for Summer Camp this year but has never been to the farm before? Our Farm & Nature Club is the perfect first step.

Starting Saturday, April 25th, we are welcoming a small, intimate group of children ages 6–8 for 6 gentle Saturday mornings right here on our beautiful 87-acre farm in Ridgeway, ON.

Every week your child will:
🌲 Explore the forest and farm through guided discovery
🐓 Connect with animals and the natural world
🌼 Engage their senses to support calm and focus
🧘 Practice simple wellness and self-regulation tools
🤝 Build confidence in a safe, small group setting
