Weekend success with Zazzle! 🎉🐾

QQ #4 in Deer Park, WA, plus a Q in FAST! So proud of this girl and the progress we’re making together. We had such a great day, and the surface was fantastic — a huge improvement from previous trials! 🙌

Always a good weekend when you leave feeling proud of your dog and the work you’ve put in together. ❤️

🏆 QQ (Double Q) = Qualifying in both Standard and Jumpers With Weaves (JWW) on the same day!

⚡ FAST = Fifteen And Send Time, a game that tests a dog’s speed, distance skills, and teamwork with their handler.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Differentiating the Teeter-Totter from the Dog Walk! 🛑⚖️

At a quick glance on the course, the teeter-totter and the dog walk look remarkably similar to a pup—but treating them the same can lead to a dog flying off the end and risking a serious injury! Helping a dog differentiate between these two contact obstacles is critical for both safety and confidence.
Key strategies for building teeter control:

Slow the Approach: Use a cue like “easy” when coming up to the teeter-totter to help the pup slow down and manage their stride.

Ride it Down: Focus on having the dog stop and ride the plank all the way down to the ground.

Mid-Plank Control: Use a word like “wait” and reward in the middle to reinforce controlled movement.

End Position Patience: Have the dog wait at the end until released, using plenty of treats here to build massive value for a solid, patient finish!

Taking the time to build patience and communication creates a confident, safe athlete on the dirt! 🚀✨
