Today is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! It is a reminder that routine check-ups are vital for keeping cats healthy and catching issues early. Despite almost 9 million cats living in Canadian households, fewer than half see a vet annually. In fact, 60% of cat owners wait until something is wrong- yet cats are masters at hiding illness. One study showed 90% of cats over the age of 12 have arthritis, but only 4% showed signs noticed by owners.

Tips to make vet visits easier:
- Carrier comfort: Keep it out at home so it feels familiar.
- Pheromone spray: Use in the carrier and car 30 minutes before leaving.
- Practice rides: Take short drives to help your cat adjust.
- Plan smart: Book during slow hours or ask to wait in the car.
- Stay calm: Cats sense stress, so speak softly and allow extra time.

There are also pre-visit medications we can use to make the visit less stressful for everyone! If you have any questions or would like to book your kitty in call the clinic today!
