My upcoming beach vacation involves some serious open-water adventures and ATV riding, so let's call this an official over-'riding' of my usual Monday off! 🌴🌊

A quick PSA while we're at it: Caring for cats with complex behavioural needs is heavy work. If you're feeling overwhelmed, please remember to give yourself permission to take breaks, step back, and breathe. You can't pour from an empty cup and sometimes a well-deserved pause is the best thing for both you and your cat.

That’s why true feline wellness means protecting their peace. Keep them safe in a secure, quiet room away from the chaos so they don’t experience unnecessary panic or bolt out an open door.

Wedgewood Pharmacy (US) has issued a voluntary recall for several compounded medications (oral liquids, topicals, ear drops) shipped between Feb–Oct due to potency issues (subpotent/superpotent).

If your cat takes compounded meds:
1️⃣ Check your bottles/labels.
2️⃣ Cross-reference Wedgewood’s recall list.
3️⃣ Contact your prescribing vet right away with any questions!

Inconsistent medication levels can directly impact your cat’s health and behaviour. Stay safe!

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and treatment, I am so grateful to be here today as a survivor. That experience taught me one undeniable truth: early detection saves lives.

As a Cat Behaviour Consultant, that mindset extends directly to our pets. Cats can get mammary (breast) cancer too, and nearly 90% of feline mammary tumours are malignant.

Here is how we protect them:
Spay early: Spaying before their first heat cycle reduces risk by up to 91%.
Do belly checks: Gently feel for small lumps or bumps during snuggle time.
Regular vet exams: Annual checkups help catch physical changes early.

Happy 10th Birthday to my incredible first-born son, Kitty Wally! It's hard to believe a decade has flown by since you purred your way into my heart. You have such a distinct personality, you definitely know what you want and aren't afraid to let it be known, which I absolutely adore!

You are the most loving, gentle soul. You are, quite simply, my world, and my life is so much richer with you in it. Ten years of pure love, and many more to come!

Before I became a Cat Behaviour Consultant, there was just me, a cool street mural, and a lifelong obsession with cats.

Hard to believe this photo was taken nine years ago! Back then, I had three kitties in my life and people definitely labeled me a “cat lady.” But did you know the whole “crazy cat lady” thing actually started centuries ago? Back during the witch trials, independent women who lived alone and kept cats to handle mice were targeted and labeled “crazy” just to strip them of their status.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve completely flipped the script. We aren’t crazy we’re just independent, highly protective, and deeply attuned to our animals.

From an off-duty cat lady to a behaviour professional, my mission has always been the exact same: building a better relationship between humans and cats.

Watching these inquisitive little nocturnal neighbours explore the deck with those hyper-sensitive front paws never gets old! Raccoons experience so much of their world through touch their forepaws have such high nerve density that every new texture, rug weave, or table leg is an entire sensory investigation for them. It’s always a delight getting a front-row seat to their curious, clever, and cautious nature as they navigate our shared urban spaces.
