Yes, Malachi now has his own song (I wrote the lyrics, and the storyboard for the video, AI did the rest). It's just a teaser because the song is 4 minutes long but.. Do you like it? 🫣🥺🥰
One week from today will mark the one year anniversary of the day I decided to Uber to Beeton, Ontario to meet and spend 30 minutes with a pup that I didn't even know I would get to adopt. One of my craziest ideas to date.. It was a gamble, it was a long (and super expensive) Uber ride, I already had 2 dogs, single income household and so on.
Yet, I knew deep in my soul that Malachi belonged here. And as I am watching him sleep peacefully right under the fireworks lighting up the sky (for a Rez dog who grew up watching his dog friends get shot dead, fireworks can be extremely triggering), I am reminded once again that getting in that Uber was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

🇨🇦🐾 Happy Victoria Day Long Weekend, everyone.

As we head into a weekend filled with family gatherings, backyard BBQs, fireworks, and celebrations, please stay extra vigilant when walking your dogs.
Long weekends can create the perfect storm for preventable accidents:

• Guests coming and going
• Doors and gates left open
• Children distracted and running in and out
• Alcohol affecting judgment
• Dogs becoming overstimulated in unfamiliar situations

And in a split second, a dog that was supposed to be safely contained is loose and heading straight toward yours.

A dog recently lost its life while simply enjoying a leashed walk with their family.
One preventable decision changed everything.

This is not about blaming dogs. Dogs are animals and behave according to their genetics, instincts, and level of management.

This is about human responsibility.
If you know your dog is reactive, aggressive, or unreliable around other dogs, keeping them safely contained and securely leashed is not optional. It is your responsibility.

For the rest of us, the best protection is awareness.

Stay alert. Scan your surroundings. Keep your leash secure. Trust your instincts.
Because sometimes an ordinary walk can change in an instant.
Please keep your pups safe this weekend. ❤️🐾

When I tell you everything I do, I do it with the pups in mind ❤️
Decided to re-do the deck:
-Moved things around to give them more space to play and zoom around
-Added a pergola to provide them shade and shelter from the rain
I think they like it 🥰❤️

Eight months.

That is the difference between these two videos.

Eight months between a dog fighting me and fighting the leash… and a dog calmly choosing to follow my lead, despite being 100lbs and growing.

During those eight months, I received a lot of advice.

People told me Malachi needed a firmer hand. That dogs like him need to be dominated. That I should use stronger corrections. That I needed aversive tools before he became “too much dog.”

I chose a different path.

No prong collar. No e-collar. No choke chain. No fear. No pain. Not even treats.

Just structure. Patience. Consistency. Clear boundaries. And trust.

At the beginning of this video, Malachi is resisting me completely. By the end, he relaxes and walks beside me willingly.

Not because he is afraid of me.

Because he trusts me.

And for me, that difference matters.

Now, for those curious about the actual process and management side of things, here is the reality:

I did not just magically throw a collar and leash on him and hope for the best.

We started with the setup Malachi needed to succeed: • Harness • Short traffic handle • Standard leash

As he learned emotional regulation and leash pressure, we progressed to: • Harness and leash

Then: • Collar, harness, and two leashes for additional control and safety

And today: • 2 inches wide Flat collar and leash

The equipment became lighter as the relationship became stronger.

To be clear, trainers and training tools absolutely have a place, especially for serious behavioral cases or dogs who have already been failed by humans.

But this post is for new pet parents.

Before frustration turns into conflict. Before the relationship becomes a power struggle. Before you reach for shortcuts.

Give your dog the opportunity to trust you first.

You do not need to break a dog's spirit to earn their respect.

You need to become someone worth following. ❤️🐾🐺

And the winner is.... Watch til the end to find out 😉
As per usual, this is was not scripted, the dogs refused to cooperate and it was as every bit chaotic as our name indicates 🫪😂
I tried a live first, but then, the dogs said no, someone knocked at the door and it was just a mess😵‍💫 LOL
Selena was supposed to pick the winner, she was not interested. Kitsu was as angry at the demo dogs as expected and Malachi ended up choosing the winner. congratulations 🥰🥰 Please get in touch with us via DM to claim your Dog Mother day package ❤️🐾
it was a close call.
I am extending the $50 off your May 23 or June 13 Cpr and first aid course certification registration until May 14th at midnight, as a thank you for participating

I WISH YOU ALL AN AMAZING MOTHER'S DAY ❤️❤️❤️
