As we settle into the cooler months, our kitchenette units are now closed for the winter season. They will be re-open 1 May 2026!
However, our standard rooms remain open and welcoming at $109.00 + taxes per night. ❄️

We’d also like to take a moment to thank our amazing staff, Kara, Abby and Shelby, for all their hard work and dedication this year. It’s been a fantastic season, and we couldn’t have done it without you! 💙

Effective today the Government of Canada is making ferry travel in the Maritimes more affordable. Thanks to this initiative, Bay Ferries and Northumberland Ferries will be offering a 50% fare reduction on services between Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The discount includes vehicle, passenger, foot passenger, commercial rates and fuel surcharges.

All new bookings made today and beyond will reflect the reduced fares automatically. Refunds for existing reservations August 1 and onward will be refunded 50% and returned to the original method of payment by August 31. No customer action is required.

How much do you know about the Digby Gut?

The Digby Gut is a narrow and dramatic channel that connects the expansive Bay of Fundy to the picturesque Annapolis Basin. It is also one of the most historic waterways in Canada. An ancient Mi’kmaw route to the Bay of Fundy, and Samuel de Champlain’s passageway to Port Royal, one of the first European settlements in North America. It’s also one of the first things you see in the Digby region if travelling west on the highway, or while coming in on the Fundy Rose from New Brunswick.

For centuries, it served as a major shipping route connecting the Annapolis Basin to the Bay of Fundy and the Gulf of Maine. It is also home to many shipwrecks due to the violent waters surrounding it.

The Digby Gut's strong tidal currents can reach speeds of up to 5 knots (9.3 km/h). These currents, combined with the narrow passage, make navigation through the Gut challenging.

Luckily it is not something you need to do to enjoy its beauty. Some of the best places to see the gut from the ground is at Point Prim, the Smiths Cove Lighthouse and various other places in downtown Digby.
