Community, our earth, and how we act within it Earthwise is a not-for-profit, charitable organization.

We are a community resource on ecological gardening, a model of best practice for sustainable horticulture, a public space where the community connects with nature. The Earthwise Society operates the Boundary Bay Earthwise Garden and Demonstration Food Gardens. We put people of all ages in touch with the earth, from grade school children learning about soil, biodiversity, wildlife stewardship and resource conservation; to adults learning about ecological gardening, composting and growing food. The Earthwise Garden demonstrates that it is possible to have a healthy, sustainable, beautiful landscape without the use of chemicals. The Earthwise Demonstration Food Gardens puts the community in touch with food, where it comes from, how it grows, the ecological costs of getting it to our tables, and the importance of sustainable organic growing practices.

Participants also took part in a hands-on seed-saving activity and shared ideas about what they would grow if they could have a plant that produced endlessly!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another fun and informative session. 🌻
