It has come to my attention that items of mine are being re-sold at a notable markup without having been discussed with me, and I am officially posting that I will no longer be offering discounts on multiples of anything EXCEPT for youth organizations/custom branded items/award items. My items are for sale through my website or through attending events where I have a booth ONLY.

My cost on the majority of my materials in the last 12 months has gone up approximately 30% and my prices have not reflected that. I have always undercharged myself for my time because more than anything, I wanted my items to be attainable to people, especially the kids that seem to gravitate towards my products.

I’ve recently been doing very thorough cost breakdowns on the items and there are many items where I am only paying myself as low as $3-5/hr. These items are entirely designed, cut, tooled and painted by me, myself and I. There is no overseas workshop, there is no second person in the home making sure the bills are paid so I can be in the shop.

Just to give you an idea - a rope noseband currently is priced at $65. Out of that $65 IF I even sell it at regular price and not on a show special or sale, I have to pay for tooling hide, thread, paint, antique, resist, dye, a finishing coat, leather to line the backside, chicago screws, the leather for the straps plus the other miscellaneous consumables and overhead costs associated with my little shop (sewing machine, tools, power, etc.). An average noseband takes me 4+ hours to make, FOUR HOURS! And that doesn’t take into consideration the time taken to design the noseband, or the materials for the templates, and supplies for making the pattern. Even if my cost was $10 for all of the materials (which it most definitely is not) I would only be paying myself $13.75/hr…….that’s not even minimum wage here in Alberta.

I quite literally pour my blood (I have the scars to prove it), sweat & tears into the items that I make and nothing brings me greater joy than seeing people enjoy my items. These are not Temu quality products and for those that thought it was a wise decision to be shady…….have the day you deserve.
