The need for GTHS services has grown far beyond what our current Animal Centre on Tenth Line, Collingwood, was built to handle.

Today, the GTHS supports more than 4,000 pets each year. The David & Helen Capin Regional Centre for Pets & People will give us the space and capacity to meet the needs of our growing region.

Help build what comes next.

HAPPY TAILS: HOLLY formerly Wendigo

Holly has been busy making herself right at home, and we love hearing how far she's come! 🥹

She got to tag along on an outing to Blue Mountain Village, where she enjoyed a restaurant visit (and even got her very own little meal!). She's continuing to make wonderful progress with her training, is officially crate trained and has found a routine that works well for her and her family.

It's been so special to hear about all the new experiences she's getting to enjoy and the confidence she's building along the way. She's even been growing...maybe not so much in height, but definitely in length! 😉

We're so happy to see Wendigo settling into life with her family and making the most of all the adventures ahead.

Thank you to her family for sharing an update and giving her so much love. We can't wait to see what comes next! 💙🐶

Our spooky volunteer is back!! They're a little bony, but they've got lots of love to give 🧡

They stopped by our cat rooms to introduce themselves, hand out some treats, and see if they could make a few friends! The reviews are mixed, but a few pets, curious sniffs, and snack breaks later, we'd say things are looking promising 😆 😸

Happy Halloween week from all of us at the GTHS! 🎃

PET(S) OF THE WEEK: MONTY & PANDORA! 🐾

Two big personalities. Two amazing dogs. Two very special homes still waiting to be found.

Meet Monty!!
Handsome, hilarious, and highly motivated by snacks. 😉 This sweet boy is working hard on his focus skills and would love a person who can help him navigate the world at his own pace. Busy streets and bikes aren't his thing, but tasty treats and a little patience? Now we're talking! Monty is looking for an understanding home with kids aged 10+ where he can keep learning and thriving.

Meet Pandora!!
Beautiful, brilliant, and ready for her next big adventure! This clever, energetic girl loves treats, challenges, and having a job to do. She can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but with patience and time, her wonderful personality shines through. Pandora needs an experienced home that can keep her curious mind busy and her escape-artist skills in check. Kids aged 8+ would be the best fit!

Both of these wonderful dogs have so much potential, personality, and love to give. They may need a little extra understanding to help them shine, but the right match could make all the difference.

Could Monty or Pandora be your perfect match? Come meet them at GTHS and help us get these two one step closer to finding their people!
