Meet Florence!
This sweet and beautiful girl is looking for a quiet home with another dog to look up to and learn from! She can be quite shy and would like some experienced dog owners to help her come out of her shell and figure out the world isn't such a scary place! She's also an active pup and would love to play with her dog friend! If you have the time, patience and love in your heart for this sweet baby come and meet her today!

After 473 days in our care… Cheyenne has been ADOPTED!!!

Cheyenne was found wandering the streets of Cochrane, scared, stressed, and hungry. With time, patience, and the help of our amazing Behaviour Team, she regained her confidence and trust in people.

Her new family shared this:

“I’m so happy I finally decided to adopt Cheyenne! After having her in foster so long, not much has changed other than her new leash, collar, and a few new toys to officially welcome her home! She loves walks, naps on her two favorite couches, and trips to the CAHS off-leash park for a good run. Thanks to all the CAHS staff for helping Chey become an official member of my family!”

Meet Arthur!
Hi, I'm Arthur! I'm a super outgoing guy! I love going on adventures and snuggling up on the couch after a long day. I can be a little nervous of new things, but I'm a super brave boy, and if you're strong-willed, I will be too! As I can be nervous, I would like to go home with children 10 and up. I love love love the outdoors, and I would spend my whole day out if I could!

It Takes a Village. It's National Animal Shelter & Rescue Appreciation Week!

This week, we’re celebrating our incredible staff, volunteers, and community who make everything we do possible. Thanks to you, more than 1,300 animals have found safety, love, and second chances this year.

From rescuing animals in need to providing medical care and endless compassion, it truly takes a village. Whether you donate supplies, volunteer your time, or support our fundraisers, you’re helping save and change lives.

We did it!

Our 2025 Wags and Whiskers Gala, presented by Global Pet Foods Cochrane, was an incredible success, raising a record-breaking $100,000+ for the animals! 🐾

From lively auctions and delicious food to sweet puppy cuddles, laughter, and generosity filled the room.

A few highlights:
Cupcake Madness raised $4,500 (and lots of smiles!)
Guests filled our CAHS van with food, treats, and supplies
Our Emcee Ian Harvie & Auctioneer Erol Yersel kept the night full of fun — with a quick pause to catch the Blue Jays’ big moment! ⚾

He definitely earned his name, he's huge! So is his personality! Dinosaur absolutely loves getting love and attention, he will rub against your legs if you ignore him. He loves to be the center of attention, which isn’t hard with how big and handsome he is! Bird watching is his main hobby, he will sit and watch them for hours! With food breaks in between, of course! Dinosaur would like an indoor-outdoor lifestyle. If you're looking for a big cat and a big personality to join your family, he might be the guy you're looking for!
